USE UP YOUR STASH CHALLENGE 2014: Session 2

I went on a weekend trip with my favorite aunt, and low and behold, the hotel has my favorite free samples. I'll be returning home with ANOTHER trial size to add to the stash.

I swear hotel shampoo and conditioner is on another level these days.

Finished up the Redkin color extend shampoo and conditioner sample. It made me remember the difference between sulfate and sulfate free. It really worked great, not stripping.

So I put the conditioner on, didn't rinse it out, and layered Carol's Daughter lite hair milk on top. It's air drying now. Very soft, moist and nice.

I used up my Hairveda Acai Phyto, which I will repurchase at some point. I also finished up my Alikay co-wash, which I won't repurchase.

I'm giving away my Jessicurl Deep conditioning treatment. It made my hair hard the first time I used it, and it didn't wow me the second time. Also, it should be in a jar. It is too thick for a bottle. I literally turned my hand red getting it out of the bottle, even after I stored it upside down for a week.

I'm also giving my sister back her Curls Whipped Cream. I don't need it because I have my Jane Carter Curl Cream. They both work for twists. The JC curl cream works for wash n' gos, while this doesn't. The Curls Whipped Cream just frizzed my hair out. Also, the Curls has kind of an alcohol scent for some reason.

I think I might start doing more wash n gos. That'll help me use product and it didn't take as long as I thought it would.

Almost done with Giovanni conditioner.

Realized KCKT might become a staple.

I'm almost done with my Hair Dew. I probably have enough for 2-3 uses. I'm working to finishing up my Alma Rinse Cream. I have half of a bottle left. That's some good stuff

Last week I returned an Aphrogee leave in I had to Sally's, it did nothing for me. In exchanged I picked up:

One n' Only Argan Oil Hydrating Mask
One n' Only Argan Oil Moisture Repair Conditioner

It was buy one, get one so it was an even exchange price wise.

Yesterday I did buy two items now I am done until the end of June - for real this time! I did need more moisturizing conditioners so the above doesn't count, plus that was an exchange.

Yesterday I got:

Fantasia Frizz Buster - Hopefully it would be good on sets.
Motions Oil Sheen - I saw a "haul" review of it Sunday night and had to get it. :lachen:

Wow I just found a pretty much full bottle of Redken All Soft Shampoo under the sink. That bottle had to have been sitting under there for five years, because that was the last time I bought or thought about Redken. I kind of want to use it to see if I like it but I'm not sure if it's still good. And the fact that it's Redken and was expensive. I smelled it and it smells the same I think lol. Can shampoo go bad?

I think you are fine. I have had shampoo for years and it was fine. Brands like that are pretty shelf stable.

I edited my stash on page 2 to reflect how much I used so far. There are 34 hair products left, samples and all.

I brought up a few more things up from the basement that I figure I can use all together. I'm still working on the John Frieda shampoo and leave in spray, the Vo5 clarifying conditioner, EVCO, carol's daughter lite hair milk leave-in and blue magic coconut oil grease. I used them all in my hair regimen today.

Used up my Giovanni Smooth as a Silk conditioner this morning.

I think by wash n go-ing, I'll be able to use up a LOT more products.

Yay! 1 down 40 to go!

Oh snap, except that I bought a bottle of ApHogee 2 step -___-

But still. That's okay! I know it's something I'll use!

Also looks like I didn't succeed on the no buy :-(

So no purchases in June and maybe no July either. I will, at the end of the session, repurchase KCNT. It's officially a staple because my hair feels amazing and I love it.

Next to use up is one of those sample conditioners. I might use it tomorrow (second day cowashing in a row. But that's okay)

Here goes with the first 30 days, product free. The first step is the most important.

Today I was working on Its a 10 Miracle Leave In and Oyin Hair Dew.

Big brother is home on military leave. I showed him my hair stuff and asked him if he wanted any of it.

But, he just got back from visiting big sister and our niece and nephew. He was looking for the same product big sis uses on the kids hair. He didn't want what I got, just the stuff that makes the babies smell so good the whole day.

What product makes the babies smell good all day? I'm curious

I used up the Giovanni Deep Moisture conditioner and most of the Dax Jojoba oil pomade. I thought it was an oil but when I opened the sample I realized it was a pomade. I sealed with it and it seemed to work very well. I want to try some other things for sealants but I will keep it in my list of possibilities.

Sally's has a BOGO and I want stuff  But I am going to hold off at least until my stash hits 30. Then I will re-evaluate whether I want to buy anything or not. My next purchase will probably be either MyHoneyChild's type 4 hair cream or Camille Rose Moistureaid butter.

I saw that and I am tempted but I'm trying to resist too since I need to use up stuff.
