stretching relaxers - do you find that you need to shampoo/condition more or less?

When I stretch my relaxers I try to manipulate my hair less as possible, however when I do shampoo and condition I make sure that I deep condition and leave the condition longer than I normally would. Haven't had any issues thus far...
