From Bald to Bodacious 3yrs and 9mos 4b natural!

Ummm, miss lady, I love you hair! I moved back to Houston and have yet to run into you (It's me, Nichi)

You hair looks fab! I also sent this look to Pebbles, you know she'll flip out when she sees this, right? Your hair looks absolutely AMAZING!

See now that was why I was afraid of trying it. I thought maybe you had a magical solution:look:...but alas back to what I know best. I do agree that you have to leave them in as long as possible but also not long enough to matt (and I love my detangling spray and product for sure to help me get them out). BUT it's a bonafide way of growing the hair without problems (dread method love the name btw)

I understand about the twist thing. I used to try to keep my twists in for a long time because I used to read people's regimen who had great success with it. Wasn't the best thing for me personally. I found myself having to re-twist too often because I don't like going long periods without detangling my hair.

What detangling spray do you use? :poke:

Now that u are wearing your hair out almost everyday, how long do you leave your twists in before you take them down for your twist out?

Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using T-Mobile G1

I take my twists out the very next day to wear a twist out the whole week. I do that once a week. Normally it takes me about 30min to twist.

 I use Just for me detangling spray and also cowboy magic detangler (which I heard about on lhcf and buy online at amazon. iT was originally for horses kinda like mane and tale but is also for humans of course. I like it, don't like mane and tale though can only recommend cowboy magic).

wow! Im amazed at the difference in thickness. Question if you dont mind, do you think it was the relaxer that kept your hair at shoulder length or lack of hair care knowledge? It seems like you ends got stronger. Does your hair tangle/knot easily?

It was both. I had a few experimenting stylists in my family and let me tell you I not only received a relaxer every 4-6weeks, but I used to receive 1 inch trims each time I got a relaxer and I flatironed every day. What is crazy is that my cousins who did my hair would say "its about time you get a perm I see your new growth already" and that would be like 2 weeks after a fresh perm.

@MissAlinaRose So...I know that you are going to mozie on over to the HL 2012 thread :look: :look:

HL?! No ma'am!! I need to get to WL first lol.

I'm back. Your hair....your hair.

Do you take vitamins?

Do you use henna?

Wigs?

Weaves?

Law of Attraction?

Prayer?

I love the bigness of your hair

Your hair looks beautiful in every pic. Some of y'all just have hair that grows, whereas I've been struggling with my hair all of my life. One day I'll get there (crosses fingers)

Wow! Wow! Wow!:lick:Amazing hair and progress. And you are really pretty too!
Please could you explain this dread method for those of us who are slow, or please direct me to where I can find the information.

I have been natural dice February 2009 and cannot boast of hair half your length. I need to step up my low manipulation game!

Edited to add: I found the information about the method on your blog

Thanks for sharing. You had some good tips and advice; and I enjoyed reading about your hair journey. I have been around here for a while (since 2005), but I am just starting to take advice and try new things out that I have shut out for years. I thought I knew it all, but I found you CAN learn something new. One question, you mention oil rinsing in your FAQ's and said you would explain how you do it in "natural hair 101", but there is no mention of oil rinsing there. It is my fav hair subject, so could you elaborate?

arrrggh! i just looked at your fotki again-omg your hair. it's the stuff dreams are made of. i just love people who do lots of different styles!!
do you put rollers or something on the ends of your twists? they're so pretty and thick!

Your hair is absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for paying it forward, by sharing your experiences, pics and reggies in this thread, as well as, on your blog and Fotki. Your progress gives hope that anyone can reach great lengths with time and patience.

Gorgeous!!!
