1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? Longer Hair :)
2. What is your current hair lenght? shoulder length in the back & chin length in the front
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? Natural
4. What are your hair goals for 2010? APl in the back and CL in the front
5. What is your hair reggie? Wash once a week, deep condition once a week. Add shea butter for moisture or coconut oil daily. Seal with castor oil
 
I am soooo in! lol I've been waiting for this

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
Growth - specifically to grow out my layers and bangs, and to retain all 6 inches with the exception of trims.
2. What is your current hair length?
Shoulder length, one inch from APL
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Relaxed
4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
To achieve full APL hair for sure, and hopefully BSL by December 2010
5. What is your hair reggie?
Rollerset and DC twice a week. I sometimes bun during the week, and flat-iron no more than once per month. I hope to eliminate flat-ironing completely by relaxing every 8 weeks instead of stretching in 2010.

:yep: We seem to have the same goals and our hair is about the same length.
I even wanna relax sooner cause I cause more damage with stretching.

Simple and low mani: buns/updos daily, moisturized daily, deep condition and rollerset weekly, clay and protein treatments once each month, texlax every five to six months, and a Sylver-inspired no-combing-between-washes routine.

right now (ever-changing, but getting better and better):

~Nightly:
moisturize and scarf / satin pillowcase

Weekly:
pre-poo, wash (cowash or poo), dc 1-2 hours, moisturize, seal, braid(out)

Midweek:
restyle and moisturize

~Monthly:
Henna 4 hours with lemon and water, then dc
Search and destroy

detangle as needed
protein (aloe vera) as needed

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? I already follow most of the guidelines in my regular reggie, so the challenge just makes it a little more fun. I want to grow my hair to a thick APL

-Stretch all relaxers to at least 16 weeks (no more than 3 relaxers all year)
-Grow to APL

-Poo-Wash twice a month

-Moisturize with every wash (in between as needed)
-DC once a week
-Heavy Protein once a month (light protein as needed)

My purpose for the joining the challenge is to grow out my hair!!! I have been natural but still damaging my hair for almost 5 years! It is nowhere near the condition it should be--both health- and length-wise! That's going to change now!

2. What is your current hair lenght?

Curly--almost shoulder length
Pulled/ straightened--about an inch past my shoulders

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?

NATURAL...with damaged ends

4. What are your hair goals for 2010?

To MAINTAIN healthy locks, and RETAIN ALL length!!!

5. What is your hair reggie?

Wash every 2-3 weeks/ as needed.
DC every wash.
Co-wash as needed in between washes.
Condition daily (shea butter or coconut oil).
Massage scalp daily.
Keep hair in twists/ braids.
Don't leave out (ponytailed ot bunned) for longer than a week.
KEEP HANDS OUT OF HAIR UNLESS TO STYLE!!!
Take vitamins to maintain health.
Eat healthy (esp. hair health promoting foods!!!).

Reach half-way APL by the end, fix the areas that are thinning, grow my edges back.

DC every week (alternate between protein and moisture conditioners)
Clarify every month (or twice a month if need be)
Moisturize with Nexxus Humectress every day
Massage Minoval and castor oil every night on thinning areas and edges
Take hair vitamins
Drink plenty of water
Protect hair with wig regimen
 
OMG I just cowashed with HEHH and it felt so good. I think I like that conditioner.....
Oh yea I started taking my vitamins again today too.
 
After my cowash yesterday I put my hair in 4 braids to dry and today I wore a braidout messy bun, it cute!

5. What is your hair reggie? Co-wash 1x/week, DC (after co-wash) 1x/week, Clarify 2x/month, Henna + Indigo every 6wks, Relaxer every 10-12 weeks minimum, Dust every relaxer or every other relaxer...it depends, Moisturize and seal everyday or every other day, Try to Keep It Simple.

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
My purpose for joining this challenge is to retain optimum hair length this year. My hair has been the same length for the past 2 years which I think was caused by splits and breakage from using heat and overstyling.

2. What is your current hair length?
My current hair length is armpit length.

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
I have natural hair.

4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
My 2010 hair goals for my hair is to KIS (Keep It Simple), to reach brastrap length, and to avoid heat usage and excessive/rough manipulation.

5. What is your hair reggie?

I will be doing a dry DC today using Nexxus Humectress (its only a small amount left), CON purple, squirt of ApHogee 2 min, and coconut oil.

Then I will wash with CON Green then do a cowash with Salon Care Honey and Almond Conditioner to soften my hair up a little.

I'm hoping to sneak into this post since a challenge that I was supposed to be in for 2010 doesn't seem to have started yet...

So here are my answers...

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
I'm new and want to take better care of my hair so that it can grow healthy and as a result retain length.
2. What is your current hair lenght?
My ends are touching my shoulders.
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Was natural and then texlaxed in September. Nothing since then - been keeping cornrows and wearing a wig for the winter.
4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
Health and Length...most importantly is the health and NO MORE breakage!!
5. What is your hair reggie?
Shampoo, condition, deep condition, cornrow, wig.
Once a month I use a protein treatment, and love the 2-minute Aphogee treatment for those times I just feel I need it. Also use Amla Hair Oil inbetween the cornrows on the scalp and massage.
 
I am wearing a wig with braid underneath. Until I can afford to get my hair braided which won't be until Feb. On Sunday I shampooed with Aphogee damage, Giovanni tea tree treatment con, SE mega silk olive oil dc, NTM leave in, olive oil creme.

Moisturise daily
Co-wash 1-2x week
Protein 6-8 weeks
Bun variations to hide and protect my ends
Straighten every 3/4 months

So, I did the Aphogee 2 Step Treatment Yesterday and followed up w Joico Intense Hydration. I've been airdrying and bunning. I'm on my way!
