Hello Ladies,

It is almost that time of year again to get ready for LHCF Bootcamp 2010.:grin::woot:

I, TriniStarr will be your faclititar for LHCF Bootcamp 2010 !

I would like for us to think about these 5 questions as we all get ready for LHCF Bootcamp 2010.

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
2. What is your current hair lenght?
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
5. What is your hair reggie?


LHCF Bootcamp 2010 will start JANUARY 1, 2010. However, I will post details, rules and requirments for this challenge on Dec 20, 2009. That way LHCF ladies can work on whatever products or items is needed for this challenge.

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
- i want healthy hair, & i want to retain as much length as possible while i go through this transitioning process.
2. What is your current hair lenght?
- i have an asymmetrical cut. it's neck length in the front, & chin length in the back.
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
- relaxed with about 2 inches of new growth. transitioning!
4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
- i'd like to hit shoulder length by december 2010 :yep:
5. What is your hair reggie?
- i wash 2x per week, & rollerset. deep condition at least 1x per week. clarify 1x per month. ayurvedic powders & oils whenever i remember :lol: will be looking forward to wigging it up throughout most of this process!

5. What is your hair reggie? I poo every two weeks. DC once a week. Hot oil treatment once a month. Oil scalp ones a week. Low manipulation

Reach full blunt APL
No experimenting (sticking to the basics all year.)

DC Weekly
Shampoo w/ dilated shampoo monthly
Clarify every 4 months
Protective style ¾ of the time
Hide hair w/ braids, braid outs, twist outs and weaves
Regular trims every 4 months

2. What is your current hair lenght? Its uneven from my BC but most is SL & CL.
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? Natural
4. What are your hair goals for 2010? To be APL, i was APL for my very first transition and i never seen APL after that:lachen:
5. What is your hair reggie? L.A.Z.Z.Y:spinning: But im going to pump it for this challenge including Ayurvedic products & buning!
All i do is co-wash every day or every other day, for styling i either bun or twist my hair.
Trying to DC once a week, and shampoo once a month.

5. What is your hair reggie? Co-wash 2x a week; wash once a week; moisturize and seal at least once a day; stretch no less than 12 weeks at a time; relax 4x a year; Deep condition with a hair mask once a week; light dusting in-between relaxing treatments

i was never serious about length, i was all about tackling my moisture issues. now, im going for growth.

2. What is your current hair lenght?
stretched-- my hair is just above APL.
natural--my hair is above SL


3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Natural

4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
a. reach full APL
b. commit to regular deep conditioning; my hair does really well when i keep up with it but i've been slacking all year :-/


5. What is your hair reggie?
now that it's cold i:
-co-wash once a week; moisturize and seal.
-deep conditioner about once a month.
-dr. bronner's every now and then when i feel i should do a more thorough cleanse.
(no petro., min. oil, drying alcs. sulfates or cones)

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? To keep my self motivated to not use heat and continue healthy hair practices!

2. What is your current hair lenght? Between collar and APL

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? Relaxed

4. What are your hair goals for 2010? Maintain health hair practices, reach APL by June and BSB by December 2010.

5. What is your hair reggie? I am getting my first sew in next month so I will be washing once a week. Clarifying 1x per month. Spay braids under weave with my moisture mix. When I take down my sew in I will d/c every week, do a henna treatment, 2 weeks later I will do an aphogee treatment then back in another install. No trimming until Nov. I wont relax until Nov. to end a 1 yr 14 month stretch.

Hopefully for some support, i truly need a buddy. I really do. I want to come back to this post one year and 15 days from now and see if I was true to myself.

2. What is your current hair length?
Mixed and uneven anywhere from 3-7 inches
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Au Naturale
4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
Getting it healthy, lustrous, manageable, and retaining my length, my hair grows just fine.
5. What is your hair reggie?
I honestly dont know. but once i finish skimming and reading and researching ill make sure to come back here and post it.

-So far I do know that I will be washing 1x weekly (sat or sun)
Using Either Avalon Organics in the lemon clarifying, or Hugo in the Lemon infused with shea

-co washing on wed's ( 20% castor/20%glycerine/10%aloe the rest conditioner.
Gonna use el cheapo cone free Suave until I save up for my real conditioner which is by Kerasilk- Yes it has some cones namely one, but water and oil has to mix somehow. And I will clarify every 4rth week.


-Deep protein treatments for my ends only every 3-5 weeks. My ends knot up. They need protein until further notice.
Ill be using Aphogee here.

-Deep protein treatment once every 6 weeks for entire head.

-Deep moisturizing treatment( alternating between heat no heat) every 10 days or 3x's monthly.

-Saran wrapping every other night. Including wash and co wash days

- wearing only the satin caps instead of the regular wig caps over my hair under my wigs.

Get my 6"! (Bottom layer near waist)
5. What is your hair reggie?
Wash/DC 1x p/w (or 2 weeks with extensions). Keep braided (or twisted) until March 22, 2010 (Spring, or longer). After that PS most of the time. Moisturize daily. Dust + Clarify as needed. Baggy! No flat Iron until MBL?

Varies from SL to a little past APL. I think I have mad layers after a self cut and tearing Sisterlocks out of my hair in November :sad:

Natural, well, I do have black dye in my locks.

Long, healthy, MBL, blunt ends

5. What is your hair reggie?

Ayurvedic Hair Care: Coconut oil is my staple - oh yeah! As soon as I get a job Hairveda and Afroveda here I come. Vatika Frosting is the business, oh yes it is! The Indian hair powders, Shikakai, Brami, Amla - you name it!!!

Co-wash on the regular (3-5 x a week)
Deep condish (once a week)
Dye all except the silver/white streak front and enter (don' cha jus love the skunk look?) q 4-6 weeks
There is more to this ayurvedic programme as you ladies know. Won't post here 'cause could be another book by golly. Those who do not know simply consult our archives.
Protective styling: min. 5 x/week, half wigs, buns, french roll, braid at night
Satin/Silk pillow cases or always sleep in satin bonnet

"Mid Back Length or Bust", I say

I would like the same or better results with my hair as I had joining the 2009 challenge.

APL (I reached this milestone because of boot camp!!)
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Texturized...growing out the bone straight relaxed ends.
4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
I would like to reach another hair growing milestone- BSB/BSL. I would like to continue PS and using heat very rarely. I would like to continue to make healthy hair care practices second nature.
5. What is your hair reggie?
Prepoo once a week with a protien based conditioner (Mane and Tail/ORS Replenishing)
Cleanse once a week (trying to bump it up to two) with WEN
DC with Silicon Mix
Silicon Mix leave-in
Rollerset and air dry
Bun or other PS during the week
Moisturize with Hairveda Whipped Ends or Qhemet Alma Cream
Seal with JBCO or Hairveda Shikaki Castor Oil

the last bootcamp was great for my hair! i'm definitely doing this one as well.

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
I am still transitioning, and hope to continue until at least October of 2010. Keeping my hair in protective styles and not using heat is what has allowed me to transition this long, and if it's not broke...
2. What is your current hair lenght?
bsl... maybe mbl
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
transitioning
4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
continue my transition, grow my hair to wsl (i hope), keep my hair tangle free and moisturized
5. What is your hair reggie?
right now i'm protein and moisture dcing, washing, conditioning, and rollersetting once every 5 or 6 days. i keep my hair in a high or low bun every day, and moisturize with shea butter and coconut oil. in march i may go back to daily cowashing, but i'll be 17 months post and i may not feel like dealing with my hair every day. but no matter what, i'll be bunning.

To retain more length and get past MBL in 2010. I joined the 2009 Bootcamp and my hair thrived. I haven't trimmed in almost 2 years.

2. What is your current hair length?
Full APL, just grazing BSL

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Relaxed

4. What are your hair goals for 2010?
To get past MBL, maybe even WL!

5. What is your hair reggie?
1x per week
Shampoo: Mizani Thermasmooth Shampoo
Protein Conditioner: Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor for 2-5 mins under plastic cap
Deep conditioner: Keracare Humecto, plastic cap and sit under dryer for 30-45 minutes
the either
- Rollerset then sit under hood dryer for 40 minutes
or
- Flexirod set then sit under hood dryer or airdry overnight

I'm in the weave challenge for the first half of 2010 so my regimen will be diffrent

Current length: 3.5" on the top 2" @ the back, growing out a short cut

I'm relaxed

What do I want out of this challenge?
-to reach full even NL by the end of next year
- for my hair reggie to become second nature
- to make protective styling a habit

My Reggie:

1x a week :

Pre-poo with oil/protein condish (ORS hair mayo or Aphogee 2min)

Shampoo- ORS creamy aloe

DC steam/hooded dryer/no heat depending on my hair's needs. DC rotation: ORS repelensihing, mizani moisturefuze, Motions moisture plus

moisturize with luster's S-curl/salerm21

seal with Castor/coconut oil/EQP mango butter

I almost always airdry with rollers or just loose hair.

Hmm I am not sure, 5-6 inches on top and 4.5 inches on the bottom

Again to achieve healthier hair and to retain all of my growth.

I co wash 2 times a week. DC/steam once a week. Shampoo as needed. Moisturize daily. Will keep braided/twisted(extensions) up until I can walk outside without a coat. After that I will be in no extension protective styles.

Okay so I am in every other challenge on here so I might as well Join this one as I feel it pulls together all my other challenges. I have also joined challenges I know I pretty much already do or those where I need to improve my discipline so this one is impt in rounding up all my challenges.

Anyway here goes and I will initially be committing for 6 months:


1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?

To keep me focused on my hair goals and other challenges for 2010.

Neck length/ Grazing shoulder

Relaxed transitioning to natural (4 months post)

4. What are your hair goals for 2010?


- Healthy APL length
- Filled in Edges
- Maintain moisture balance whilst in weaves
- Develop proper discipline with my Reggie


5. What is your hair reggie?
Protective Style
- I will be wearing Weaves as a protective style for 2010 (have committed for 6 months initially)
- My reggie with Weaves will be to install a full weave for 6/ 7 weeks at a time and then take down and DC/ Steam (heavy protein) and take a 2 week break before installing again. I am planning a total of 3 installs over 6 months.
- ***I also need to discipline myself more about properly wrapping up my hair at night***

Washing & DCing
- Pre-poo with Coconut oil or Neem Oil
- Shampoo (CON for weaves and Nexxus/ Mizani/ ORS ect when out of weaves)
- DC under heat cap/steamer for 40 mins - 1 Hr with conditioner (mositure & protein mixed) & ceramides (Conditioner depends on whether I am wearing a weave or not)
- Rinse and use leave in conditioner
- Sit under hood dryer to dry hair under weave or when not in weave dry hair under hood dryer in rollers.

Moisturizing
With weaves
- Moisturize hair under weaves 2/3 times a week with a mixture of rosewater + glycerin + aloe + infusium + essential oils
- Spray weave hair with same hair when needed

Without weaves
- Moisturize & seal daily
- Mizani H2O Intense
- Elasta QP Mango Butter
- Shea Butter
- Cocoa Butter
- Rosewater + Aloe + Glycerin + Infusium

Scalp Care
Massage scalp with a mixture of essential oils 2 x week for 10 mins

Edges
Massage Edges 3/4 times a week with JBCO & Essential Oils

Vits & Diet
-Multi (am)
-MSM (am)
-Fish Oils & Vit D (eve)
-60 Oz water a day
-Green Veggie juices when I can in the morning for breakfast!

I think I'm texlaxed but I call it relaxed

keep to my regimen
improve and maintain health
add some length

5. What is your hair reggie?
relax 3 times a year Dec/Apr/Aug
trim after relax (planning on dusting for 2010 no big trims!!!)
wash hair once a wk (co-wash in between in summer)
prepoo w/ oil/moisturizing or light protein conditioner
poo using SLS free poos
light protein and then moisture DC or just moisture DC alone
ACV rinse
detangle
moisturize
rollerset or air dry in twists and then cornrow
seal with oil

I would love to have my hair down to my bra.

Dont have one, never learned to do my own hair. but with the forums here hopefully i can get into something that works. (feels like im doomed, sigh!) but with hope, help, and god i am sure ill figure this mess out.

Reach APL by May, and BSL... asap lol

Wash day is every Friday: Aphogee Shampoo, 2 min reconstructor, Silk Elements DC under dryer for 15 min, Aphogee Pro Vitamin Leave In, Darcy's Botanicals Vanilla Styling Creme, air dry in pony tail

Co wash on Tuesday or Wednesday with Hair One (Tea Tree Oil for dry scalp), HE LTR leave in conditioner, slick hair back (with hands/no brush) with Darcy's vanilla styling creme to air dry in pony tail :) I love my reggie.

I know I'm in a lot of challenges for 2010, but I probably need this one as well. My Last ONE!!! :grin:

Ok...here goes...

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? to have a head full of healthy, beautiful relaxed hair (also thinking of transitioning though too)
2. What is your current hair lenght? Collarbone, I think (I'm confused between SL and CBL, my hair does graze my shoulder--so I guess somewhere between these two lengths is safe)
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? Relaxed
4. What are your hair goals for 2010? To have healthy hair while being relaxed or transitioning
5. What is your hair reggie? Wash every 7-10 (more like 10 now), DC every wash, protein reconstructer every wash (right now to build my strength back up), clarify every 6 weeks, heavy protein every 6 weeks, relaxing every 8 weeks (building up to longer, though)
