ARGAN OIL - WHO'S USING IT?!

'Cause I want to know! :look:

Here is a description from the Henna Sooq:
Henna Sooq's Argan Oil
Our cold-pressed, pure argan oil is imported directly from Morocco.
Argan oil is exceptionally rich in natural vitamin E, Omega 9, Omega 6, rich in phenols, phenolic acid, carotenes, squalene, and essential fatty acids.
The unroasted oil is traditionally used as a treatment for skin diseases, and is widely used in cosmetics.
Using the oil for hair: Omega 9 that is found in argan oil has shown to help with strengthening, and to achieve overall healthy hair. Argan oil is non-greasy and non-oily and has become popular as a hair treatment to repair and heal damaged hair. It has the ability to naturally hydrate and to help stop frizziness, fly-away and hard to control, unmanageable hair.
It is excellent for locking in moisture and improving shine and luster. Argan oil has been shown to penetrate the hair shaft and almost instantly improve follicle elasticity, and increase nourishment. It is known to able to help treat psoriasis.

Argan oil absorbs very quickly. It has a light nutty scent. The scent is not lasting, and if you'd like to, we recommend you add a touch of one of our essential oils (especially one that will benefit your hair) to your argan oil.
It is an oil for all hair types, and especially dry hair.

************************
There is also a site Eden Allure that sells the oil and other products made with Argan oil. Looks interesting too, but the prices are steep.

ETA: The Eden Allure Moroccan Argan Oil is deodorized, so this brand has no smell.

I wanna try this oil out. I always hear so many good things about it. I've been dragging my feet on purchasing it though b/c it's pretty pricey for a small amount but one of these days I will try it.

I ordered the bottle from Henna Sooq. When it gets here and I start using it, I will post about it. :yep:

I did a search about Argan Oil (titles and posts) and there isn't as much info as I had hoped.

Funny you should post this b/c I just started using something from the Sexy Hair Line called Soy Renewal Nourishing Styling Treatment. The lady in Trade Secret gave me a sample & I apply a dime size amt when I bun my hair back leaves it soft, shiny & silky. I do know that their are other ingredients that some here may or may not want to use such as the dreaded "cones". But I like it and may even consider buying it. The website listed the following:
What it does: Just a small amount of Soy Renewal provides deep moisture, restoring natural luster without adding extra weight or leaving behind any oily residue. Also speeds up drying time.
Easily absorbs into wet or dry hair
Smoothes and adds shine while controlling frizz
Protects against heat, humidity and environmental stresses
Special ingredients are Argan Oil & Sunflower seed oil.

Sorry for the long reply!

I use Argan oil but I dont use the one from many of these companies that charge an arm and a leg for a small bottle. I actually got a bottle from here. I love it. I have used it straight but also I have a mix I made with coconut, hemp, rose hip and some essential oils and my hair loves it.

I use organic Argan oil and it is excellent. You really only need to use a tiny amount as it does wear the hair down, but it is very good. I usually add a couple of drops to my conditioner and sit under the steamer.

What do you mean "wears the hair down?"

I was interested in the Moroccan oil, which I hear is Aragon plus additives. Let us know what you think of it. Seems like my hair is always dry so I'm always on the look out for hydration.

I'm looking for more hydration too.
I read the threads about the Morrocan Oil too and noted that it was very heavy and had cones.

I meant to say "weigh" the hair down! It seems to be quite rich oil so if you're wanting to wear your hair curly and you use too much it will end up making your curls droop (unless you've got super thick hair). I suppose it's fine if you want to wear a straight style though. All in all, it is one of the better oils that I've purchased and I've bought a few!

I looove argan oil! I use it to make body butters, I use it to seal moisture and also add it to my rhassoul treatments.
I bought mine at Sheabutter cottage

I bought mine from there too. She's very good her products are wonderful! :yep:

Ooooh!
Try it and come back and tell us about it; perhaps use it for a month then let us know. I try out product for several weeks before I make a review unless it's completely awful the first time. :look:

Your hair is lovely too. :yep:

I have naturally thin relaxed/texlaxed hair and I actually like a product to add heft or weight to my strands. I know, I know, I'm probably the only one around who does. :look:

I have a friend that lives in Morocco and she has been sending me this stuff for years. When I went and saw how it was processed I was amazed. The goats that eat climb the tree. Yes tree climbing goats. There is a special enzyme in their digestive systems that breaks down the hard as rock shell. Then after the goat does the number 2 they take the pods bust them open and process the oil. It was Amazing

I made the TERRIBLE mistake of purchasing Morocco Oil. :nono::nono: I don't think my hair's been right all week. But I still want to try pure Argan oil, so thanks for this thread JN! :D

Well, that would explain why it's so expensive :lachen:!

I have used MoraccanOil for almost a year. It has Argan oil and my hair loves it! It didn't weight my hair down at all.

I've read other sites where they say that's a myth about the goat. I do know that traditionally it's processed only by women and it's a long process since it's done w/o machines and the like.
