2 Inches In 4 Months Challenge 2017 -final Session - Sept To Dec.

I need a couple of inches before I will look like I've retained anything. I'm not seeing any breakage though so I'm good with that. I have also been able to almost dislocate my shoulder to grab my hair in the back...yes, my head is tilted as far back as I can get it (LOL) but it is progress. I think I will reach one of the lines on my lc shirt for the next lc.

1. Starting pic
2. Current Length - MBL
3. Regimen - DC with every wash, hot oil treatments, low manipulation protective styles, scalp massage minimum 1x per week
4. What will you do to achieve your goal - focus on scalp health, drink enough water, exercise.
5. Anything else you would like to share. I'm trying out new hair pills for the next two weeks. My supplement regimen will be vitamin e, multi with iron, and a herbal hair pill. If I like it after 2 weeks, I'll extended to a full month. Then try another type of supplement.

I'm adding a pic from Jan 22 and my recent wash day February 9th.

@faithVA How many times a day are you taking liquid collagen? And are you taking anything with it to improve absorption?
@Prettymetty I like your new Avi! Are you taking wheatgrass for hair and appetite?

I massaged my scalp and took a hair growth supplement. Also M&S with Tresemme perfectly undone/castor oil/shea butter on ends.

I'm just taking it once a day. It comes in a vial. I mix it with 16 oz of water. I don't take anything to improve absorption. I don't know if I need to. I'm testing this to see if it works by itself. I know I'm not willing to do a lot to try to make this work. If it doesn't work as is I'm done.

Thanks @JoyBelle! I'm taking it for overall health benefits, but my hair and nails need all the help they can get. My nails are thin and weak from bartending 4 days a week. And my hair just doesn't grow faster enough for me

I'm using a curry oil recipe on my hair. I first made it over the summer, but the smell turned me off so much that I didn't try it out. I started using it on Friday night and was pleasantly surprised when the smell dissipated by morning, and DH didn't complain. I'll be using it nightly till early March. My hair is in jumbo braids right now. I'll keep them in until next Monday.

Ok so I straightened my hair today and got a much needed trim, wool coat chewed up my hemline. I tried on my LC shirt to take a pic to check and my lines start way down my back. I need at least another inch, probably two before I'll feel like I'm at 1. Oh well, good thing check in isn't for another couple of months. I have added E'Tae products to my arsenal. This stuff works for my hair, maybe it will help me keep my ends in check so I can get to at least line 1.

I took a pic in my length check shirt. My hair wasn't anywhere near the one. Maybe towards the end of the year.

If you are only an inch or two away that is good. You should be there by summer.

I inverted today for 4 minutes. I have reason to believe that my circulation isn't as good on the right side. The nails on my right hand are thinner, shorter and easily chip/peel. The hair on my right side doesn't grow as fast... I have been using my growth oil on the right side only. I will try this out for a month and see if it helps.

I think I see a little progress in my nape area and in my front bang.

I doing well so far. I'm sticking with my water. I'm eating well and eating plenty of veggies. I'm getting my vitamins in at least 5 times a week. I've been doing a liquid collagen/biotin since the beginning of February. It's too early to tell if it is working. I will see where I'm at at the end of March to see if I'm going to get another 30 day supply for April.

My exercise has been off and on but warmer weather is right around the corner so I will be jumping back on my bike and getting in some good work outs. In the meantime, I'm still aiming to get my 10K steps in and have started doing some calisthenics.

I have been washing every 2 weeks to extend my color but will evaluate whether I'm going back to every week.

With all of that hoping to see some good progress in April.

Ok so my real hair has out grown my box braids like they are sitting on top of my hair so much so some have come out themselves. I have officially had my box braids in for 2.5 months. I got them installed when my hair was barely grippable, so I'm so happy to see my progress. My natural hair has also outgrown my texlaxed hair so I've decided to stay natural as relaxers turn my hair from type 3 to type 4 & just looks as if I've flat ironed my natural hair anyway plus I want to keep my hair braided & texlaxing my hair will make it so that I have to take longer breaks in between protective styling & that is really my main reason for choosing to stay natural. I am definitely excited to see how much more progress I'll make by the end of the challenge. Depending on the length of my hair when I actually take my box braids out, I will either do 1 more set of box braids or I'll just go ahead & get me some crochet braids because I can leave my hair alone longer.

^^^ I'm going to look into getting a stationary bike. I will check out some second hand shops. I really need to get some exercise bands and get back on my ballet/floor warm ups.
I don't really have a stationary bike. I have a regular bike on a trainer. It was just easier to say stationary bike

I would also like to join this challenge here to monitor my retention. Maybe I'll have retained something by the 3rd of May check-in.

Complete the following

1. Starting pic

This is from today:

2. Current Length
APL and growing again towards BSL.

3. Regimen
Wash and go for 2 days then bunning for 5 days.

4. What will you do to achieve your goal
By bunning more often, I hope to minimize manipulation and thus mechanical damage to my ends.

Beautiful hair @Alma Petra.

After watching several YouTube videos, I found a really simple trim method. Basically the low ponytail with a second elastic towards the ends and you trim underneath.

I will test it out week after next during the Spring Equinox

Oh your hair is lovely! You are BSL! You make me wanna deep condition my daughter's hair, and buy a mask for mine! Lol

Thank you girls @Prettymetty , @Cattypus1 .. Hopefully if I stick to my regimen, it will be full BSL by the end of the year and I'll call it.

@shortdub78 did you end up deep conditioning your daughter's hair? How old is she? And what mask do you want to buy for yourself? I haven't yet found a deep conditioner that doesn't act similar to regular conditioner on my hair, for some reason.
Hey! My DD is 9 years old. I have been deep conditioning her hair since the age of 4. I bought Aunt Jackie's flaxseed (fix my hair) masque. Didn't care for it. Felt like a protein treatment. I used it on myself. I will keep it for her though. For her hair, I used ORS replenishing conditioner. I'm not gonna bother with Masks anymore. They are usually used to repair the hair (reconstruct), which means it's going to be full of ingredients that will strengthen, and fill in cracks/chipped cuticles.

I changed my mind about the AJ hair masque. I like it, it's a keeper.
