I'm Tired of Midweek Rollersets! Help Please!

Ladies, I need a simplier regimen for my Wed wash. I'm tired of rollersetting every Wed and Sat, but my hair just loves it. What's a girl to do to look decent on Thurs and Friday. Well, I'm surely going to find out tomorrow because, I just put one big plait in my hair and tied it down. I'm under the drier getting some of the water out and I'm done! But seriously, what can I do on my wash. I don't use a blowdryer, very seldom use my flat iron/curling iron. I'm just a rollersetting queen, but I've to come up with something else for Wed. Maybe a braid out? I don't know, so watcha think.

Pincurls every night before bed do the trick. I spray on a spray moisturizer, pincurl and go to bed. Wake up, take them down, fluff them up and go :)

why don't you part your hair in 4 sections, secure with goody band and rollerset the sections..it should take about 2 minutes per section if you use large rollers. This way you are rollersetting sections all over and your roots will be straight as well as our hair. The roots will not be as straight b/c you wont have that tension in small areas but it will still look nice...a member did a youtube video, maybe someone can remember who...

maybe u should cut back on the amount of product u use in between washes.

I don't use a lot of product. I wash and set on Wed and Sat. I still want to do my Wed wash, I just don't want to rollerset. It's lightly pooed. I mainly cond my hair on Wed.

What about bantu knots? I like flexi rod sets too, way faster than rollersetting :)

This sound interesting. Would I get under the dryer with this? Do you know who did the youtube video? I'm willing to try this one.

I have some flexi rods and have never used them on wet hair the two years I have had them. How many would I need to put it my hair? What would bantu knots on wet hair result? Waves?

Why don't you try some bantu knots, you have enough length to where it would look really nice. It's quick and easy.

Here is a great video, her hair is natural, but you can do it as well. She blow dried her hair to make it straight, since your hair is relaxed you can skip the blow drying. HTH.

Here bantu knots style turned out pretty. I think I will try them using less. That's more knots than rollers I use. Thanks for sharing this!

I had to give up my midweek rollerset...it was sucking the life out of me. My hair loved it, but it was too time consuming. I've since started washing just once on Saturday, and using minimal product during the week to keep it from getting weighed down and greasy.

I just used my flexi rods on wet hair this weekend. It dries really fast, but the curls got kinda messy quick...I sleep wild :look: I'd do those sets more often if I knew how to sleep on that hair.

Girl I feel you. So you are only wetting your hair once a week? I thought about that, but my hair need its conditioning mid week. How has it been since you stopped your mid week wash? Your hair is very pretty.

Have you tried braid outs? Look in Sylver2's fotki or her youtube channel

Here is another one....I did a cowash and detangled and parted my hair like I wear it on the side. Combed hair down and tied a scarf tight on top with hair hanging out on sides and in back. (The scarf in the back sat on top not underneath my hair). Then I put rollers on about 6 sections of the hair hanging down around my head. Sat under dryer for 45 mins (you could airdry I guess). Loved it. I will do it again.

I will throw in a midweek cowash if I'm feeling yuck or my hair is just dry. I've been known to do a twistout Wednesday night...just can't devote the 2 hours to a wash, dc, rollerset :nono:

Well ladies, I'm sporting the Kinikakes one plait pinned up. I nice sleek look. And guess what, I've received compliments on it. Amazing what people think looks good. I'm going to take a pic when I get home and add it to my protective fotki album. At least I want have to touch it again until Sat.

I know exactly how you feel. I do two roller sets a week and it is time consuming. I need to do one tonight, but I'm so not in the mood. However, I'll persist because it makes my hair very happy!

My hair likes twice weekly roller sets too, but sitting under the dryer is too time-consuming so I know how you're feeling. I second the suggestions for bantu knots, braid/twist outs and the like. I've had a flexi-rod set done at the salon and it took longer to dry than the standard roller set. Then again, each person's experience may vary.

Well, at least this style worked for now since I'm freshly relaxed. I'm afraid once I get long into my stretch, this one plait will be history. I'm definitely going to try a braid out using only 4 plaits. I want to keep Wed wash the least time consuming as possible. I do miss my Thurs bouncy curls.

I'm just like you.... I just stopped doing mid week washes because I'm sick and tired of the drama. Since my hair is usually in need of a wash by Wednesday, I just bun until Friday which is my normal wash day now.

I know what you are saying. I tried doing a mid-week wash (on Tuesdays) which included rollersetting, but it was just too much work to cram into my already-busy week...and I just don't like messing with my hair that much. So, I just stick with my Saturday co-wash/rollerset.

However, if I felt I needed an extra wash during the week, I would just put my hair in a damp bun and tie it down with a scarf.

Thanks for your replies ladies. I met a friend for lunch and he commented was I having a "bad hair day". Wouldn't you know. I told him that I was just too tired to do my normal rollerset. I told him that my co-workers thought it was really cute. He commented that they were white and didn't know any better......ok.

What happened to being tactful??

I'm sure your hair didn't look that bad. People are so rude.

It really does not look bad, but different for me. Lord, I have to go to a women's meeting tonight, so I'm sure there will be plenty of comments. People are not used to seeing my hair slick back on my head.
