i use it .. love it .. will try nothing else, it never dried out my hair and it fades every 6 months for me

This was the only haircolor I used for many years and I had no problems with it. It is a permanent haircolor and my hair is relaxed. I stopped using it for about a year ago and started using semi-permanent rinses because of the shine they give. I went back to Bigen a few months ago but the Walmart I went to were out of Oriental Black, so I used the Blue Black which to me is too dark.

I used mine two weeks ago, and dang Oriental black is REALLY black. It's a beautiful shiny healthy black though. It has brought out my facial features even more! Everyone admires it at school too! It didn't make my hair dry or anything. It is sooOoo soft and manageable. Maybe ebcause I upped my cowashes a lil to 3 a week

Luv it! Cheap, permanantly covers my grays, and healthier for my hair than peroxide or ammonia based dyes. It leaves my hair really shiny and since I'm scared of it drying my hair out (when I used it years ago it did), it really keeps me on my moisturizing/dc game. No problems at all. I use brown/black and it looks black. Oriental black is VERY blk, way too black for my skin tone. Blue/Black is even blacker.

I think that's cause people go too dark, which is easy to do with bigen. Hair too dark or too light doesnt look natural on anyone.

Yep I totally agree. I have been using Bigen in Oriental Black for over a year now.

Ahem...ok, so in addition to any allergic reaction you may or may not have as a result of using this stuff, please keep in mind the inconsistencies that have been reported in this thread and others. Some ppl report an inky black that never comes out, others say it faded after two weeks or more. All this to say, the assumption is that this product is a permanent color, but sometimes it's not. The key is the powder developer it comes with in the box. Nowhere does the package state what volume developer is included. (Remember the box says "No ammonia" and "Requires no peroxide"--because it contains an unknown volume of crystallized developer that is activated by water.) So less volume developer creates "demi-permanent" results; more gives more permanent results. So this is something to keep in mind if you plan on using on the same day as a relaxer. Some heads can handle that, but b/c I never know what volume I'm getting with this product, I err on the side of caution and wait 14-21 days post relaxer. (For example, I get more permanent results from Asian BSS Bigen vs. Wal-mart Bigen

I agree with the same day coloring with relaxer that did NOT agree with my scalp
so I wait about 2 weeks after relaxer to use Bigen.

But it'd be nice of them to tell somebody, shoot!
I mean if your a layperson and you have Wal-mart Bigen and "it doesn't take", you might go back and put more on or use another perm. color on top, which could lead to damage. I know back in the day (when I was young and dumb
), I never only touched-up my roots when I re-did my color; I'd apply it all over...for the full amt of time 
I am so scared of the permanent colors 
I had streaks back in college and it damaged my hair so bad

I tried the oriental black. I LOVED it at first. Then I wanted my natural color back. I'm so glad it has been fading away. People said I looked like a witch.

Ok, I did some quick research this morning because I love henna but I really want my dark brown hair back so I wanted to use Bigen to get me back to ground zero before I continue with the henna.
Someone earlier asked if Bigen can be used over henna which was my question.
I checked out www.hennaforhair.com and they said that dye cannot be used over compound henna because it contains metallic salts which will react badly with henna causing a frog green color and just generally trashing your hair. On the other hand we should be using BAQ henna which is bought from reputable suppliers such as Mehandi and that should be no problem with dye because BAQ henna does not contain metallic salts.
I did a strand test already on my swatch of hair that I used to test out my henna on .
I mixed up a tsp. of Bigen and applied it to my henna'd strands and the next day I had back the nice dark brown color and the strands seemed strong. So I will now thoroughly wash my hair with some type of clarifying shampoo and then do my Bigen being careful to deep condition often before my next henna and indigo.

Keep us posted on the outcome of applying it to your entire head.
I put Bigen over henna hair with no problem. I bought the henna from the site you mentioned. I just didn't like the mess or the color. To much of a hassle.
But Bigen is a keeper. I'm not going back to any other brand.
