Any LHCF members in high school/college??

Hi, I'm 18, in sixth form at secondary school in the UK, which is equivalent to last year of high school in the US. I'm gonna do a gap year though to retake some exams so I won't be in uni till 2011. I agree, I have been lurking since I was 16 and I do feel quite young on this board, especially when you get all the women talking about work, their dear husbands and their children, etc, and like none of that has happened to me yet.

My regimen is to shampoo once a week with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo, then DC with ORS Replenishing Conditioner. I put it on four braids to air dry, and keep it like that all week under my half wig. I moisturise almost daily using ORS Olive Oil moisturiser and seal with olive oil. I try to use Mega tek and castor oil as often as I can on my scalp, though it does get a little tiring doing all that parting and applying, it takes time and effort, but if I want the growth I gotta do it. Sometimes I cowash whenever I feel like it too, with whatever conditioner I've got lying around, at the mo it's HE Hello Hydration and VO5 Moisture Soak.

Me! Lol I'm 23 (24 in July...moving fast...), and my major is Japanese Language and Literature. I don't have any staples atm because I'm about to relax/texlax my hair...I put both up there because depending on how it turns out, I may be either...don't know yet, rofl.

I'm 18 and a senior in high school in Miami. Just a stone's throw away from college now

I don't really have a reggie, but as soon as I get a car and a job I'm gonna step up my game for real! So, my future reggie will be biweekly cowashes, moisturize with Care Free Curl Gold and define the curls with Eco Style gel, shampoo and deep condition weekly, clarify once a month, and do a mild protein treatment once a month.

Oh, and I WILL be rockin' my fro to college :lachen:

Lol, I know what you mean. But I always like reading threads about kids and hubbys since it makes me feel more prepared when I have them lol:drunk: Lately my maternal instincts have been kicking in and I realize how much I can't wait to have kids (15 years from now.lol:grin:)

I too have baby face issues xD Throughout my h.s years, even senior year I'd have FRESHMAN coming to me asking me if I was a freshman

I dress a bit more mature now in college (flats instead of sneakers all the time, blouses, etc. a little mascara, blush occasionally) so I guess I almost look my age. Worse to worse, people will assume I'm the a freshman again which I am :yep:

Forgot to mention my staples anyway...
AO HSR & GPB. (about to place an order for other conditioners from aubrey)
Castor & coconut oil (experimenting with the cocasta and vatika from hairveda atm since they contain my fav oils)
Giovanni direct leave in (want to try new leave-ins tho)
and V05 cons for cowashing

yayy someone closer to my age lol but i am still the baby here huh? young ppl do think alike because i always get up at 2am and decide to wash and style my hair lol

And you are right. I always seem to be stuck doing hair into the wee hours of the morning...and I had a 9am class today x.x; But my braidout (since it was still wet when I took it down) made this interesting wavy fro-thing. lol Idk how to describe it but I like it so far. Makes me feel like summer since the weather's finally nice.

Well, I didn't post in this thread because I'm not *quite* :babyg:

I was 22 when I joined, and I'm 24 now. I'm in law school. I graduated from high school early and went straight through college, so I was 21 when I finished college & then I worked for a year before going back to school.

It's nice to see you all getting started so early! You will all have fabulous hair throughout your 20's!!!

My hair is relaxed. I rollerset and I'm currently using Shea Moisture products (see my siggy). I was a PJ, but all the different products I was using started causing skin irritation.

Just one random question.....do you pay for your products out your own pockets or do your parents pay for them.
hi thanks for answering. Well i pay for products using the money that my mother has deposited into my checking accnt lol so kinda

Currently I'm currently growing out my TWA so I wear a lot of twist-outs via co-washing and finger combing almost daily with:
Yes to Carrots Conditioner

or
Suave Coconut Conditioner
After Co-washing I scalp massage with EVOO.
"moisturize" with shea butter and coconut oil mix.
Seal my ends with Blue Magic Coconut Grease:sekret:

Once a week:
Prepoo with EVOO, Detangle
Shampoo with Giovanni Moisture
Deep Condition with Elasta QP DPR-11

Trying to K.I.S.S.

Hey Precious love, if I apply for a job and get one at UNC Chapel Hill, will you befriend me? There are SO many positions in North Carolina but I don't know anyone in the state! I do have family in Virginia!

I'm a student, but an olllld one. I graduate this May. Ph.D. in Language and Literacy.

I'm 19. I go to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am newly natural (as it says in my signature). I currently dont have a regimen set just yet since I'm not use to having all natural hair. I do love ApHogee, HE, JASON and VO5 products though.

And I actually think a good portion of LHCF is around college age. Hopefully they'll be a lot more people to add on to this roll call b/c I'm curious to see what school everyone goes. (ANY TAR HEELS???? GO HEELS!!!!)

I'm 23 and I go to college in New York. I keep my hair in a bun everyday unless I decide to throw it up in a banana clip in the evening. I co-wash at least 5x a week and I'm currently 6 weeks post relaxer but I've got a lot of texlaxed parts because the past two relaxers I've had didn't fully process.

Glad to see there are other people around my age on LHCF!

Hey OP, I have a friend that goes to Quinnipiac!

I'm 20, Spanish major at the University of Connecticut

I usually wear twists/braids, basically a protective style.

My staple products are: Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier (love this stuff!), eggs, extra virgin olive oil, Aurbrey's White Camelia
Warm Months Only:castor oil, glycerine based moisturizers (or just glycerine and water) and Qhemet's Amla/Olive Heavy cream

My regimen:
Moisturize daily to 2x daily and that's the only thing that's set in stone =)

Nice to see other college students and even Spanish majors!

I'm 20 years old and I'm a junior at Towson University.

EDIT
As for my regimen, I don't really have one like I used to when I first joined. I do what my hair needs at the time. Lately, I just moisturize, crosswrap and put a wig on. I wash when I feel like it. I don't really have any staples.

Here's a link to a cross wrap demonstration: http://public.fotki.com/Khandi/how_to_do/crosswrap/step1.html

I cornrowed (or as close to cornrowing as I could get, lol) underneath a month ago. I liked it but being that I suck at cornrows, I just crosswrap because my fake me out cornrows take for-ever to do. Wearing wigs has allowed me to retain A LOT of length.

I really thought I was the only one still in school up in here! I'm 16, hs junior--which is the most pain-in-the-butt year EVER:wallbash:

As for a regimen, I'm still working on that. Right now, I wash/DC weekly as consistently as I can and that's about it. Whenever I remember that I actually have jojoba oil, I massage my scalp with it. Crappy routine, I know, but like I said, I'm working on it.
