I am going to deep condition once a week with my cholesterol/olive oil concoction.

I plan to only relax my hair 4x this year.

I am only getting 2 trims, Spring and Fall.

I will be continuing usage of my conditioner washes only this time around I want to add a little flair to my buns (more hair sticks, headbands and accessories)

This is a great post....my new years resolution for my hair is to try and stretch my relaxers out to every 10 weeks as opposed to every 6 weeks which is what I'm doing now. I'd be comfortable doing this instead of 12 weeks and up because I get too much shedding when I have alot of new growth. I'm going to gradually get there by adding 1 week to each relaxer cycle...i.e relax at 7 weeks,8 weeks 9 weeks etc.......My next relaxer will be Jan 19th.

I have so many. Here it goes...

1. Drink at least 10 classes of fresh water a day.
2. Continue with supplemenation/vitamins, new low-carb diet.
3. Apply no-poo method, ACV rinses
4. Continue with essential oils
5. Learn to two-strand twist and other protective hairstyles.
6. Continue Surging.
7. Daily condition rinses.
8. Find the products that will work without spending so much on products that don't.
9. Maintain relationship with LHCF sisters.
10. Aim for 1/2" to 1" hair growth per month or 10-12 by December 31, 2004!

Well, there you have it! Happy New Year!

What a great thread!

I'm continuing my hair regime because it's working!

I will cut down on the hair challenges on this board though (after the product challenge ends in January) . I participated in way too many in the last few months! They were fun but I'll stay with my bun challenge (and vaseline challenge).

I will continue to spend 98% only on hair products I know I will use and maybe 2% on something new.

Re: What\'s your new year resolution for your hair

1. I need to stop being trifling when it comes to my hair and pay more attention to it

2. Relax every 8 weeks instead of 6. I wish I could go longer but my new growth turns to barbwire if I wait too long.

3. Moisturize daily.

4. Wear more protective styles.

Condition wash my hair more as possible
always keep my hair in a protective style
learn how to cornrow my own hair
learn how to flat twist my own hair
buy some surge, and see if it works
try to get shoulder length(for the first time in my life)
try not to put grease in my hair, unless I really need it
moisturize my hair really really good
wear phony pony tail, when my hair is outta braids
never color, highlight, or anything major on my hair
less relaxing my hair
get rid of those split ends

THats all

Keep my ends in tact

Massage my hair more often

Only use heat once a month

Continue to take my vitamins

Try not to look at my hair more than twice a day (I'll drive my self to the looney bin if I keep doing that.)

Re: What\'s your new year resolution for your hair

Great thread!! My hair resolutions for 2004 are:

1) Wear protective styles 95% of the time (braids, phonytails, buns, etc.).
2) No direct heat (I just gave away all but one of my curling irons and got rid of the comb attachment for my blow dryer). I plan on buying a professional hooded dryer.
3) Stick with my vitamin regimen, it has helped so much.
4) No color, semi-permanent or permanent.
5) Stretching relaxers out to 10-12 weeks (used to be 6-8).
6) Learn what products work for my hair and stick with them.
