*Stomping Foot* Natural Roller Sets...Can it Work?

How do you keep your natural-hair roller sets from looking poof-ey?

i used to do a lot of roller and flexi rod sets.
The key is to roll quite firmly, in small sections with a good moisturiser and setting lotion.
Getting those rollersets to last more than a few days is another question though... :)

It can be done, here is what I've found works:

1. Start with a good DC.
2. A nice rich leave-in and sealant
3. Setting lotion. I love lottabody
4. Sopping.wet.hair when rolling
5. End papers
6. Roll the hair and pin in place with tesion so the hair is pulled taut while it dries.
7. MESH rollers. I cant say enough good things about these. From others' results and my own, they give a beautiful set on natural hair

Here's a my hair:

So you can see how nicely these rollers can smooth the hair. I think its because they really keep the tension, the hair is kept super smooth while it dries. Siggy pic is also a mesh rollerset. I love the Diane soft mesh rollers they look like this:

For me, natural hair setting difficulty wasn't really the issue. It was the longevity. All that work would be a puffy mess after a day or two.
