How long did it take for your shorter hair to catch up to the rest?

Yall,

This is so discouraging. I am about 1/2" from APL in the back.
My front I dont like the front being only shoulder length and the back. I have been holding my self back from cutting it all back to shoulder length because it probally still wont grow to keep up with the rest of my hair.

In the back of my hair I use to have a problem growing it even. At one point the middle was short and thin while the left side was thick and longer. I kept cutting it even and babying it until it grew in evenly.
