I think your hair is APL but you only have about 1 inch to go. Beautiful hair!

I think you're bra's a little high for typical bsl but if all your bras sit there I'd claim it lol! I claim as soon as I'm grazing lol.

I'd claim it if thats where your bra naturally sits. Everyone's body is different so it's different lengths for different people anyway.

Wherever your bra sits on your body is where you should measure BSL from. I wouldn't claim it until the hair covers the strap, but that's my own definition of it. I'd say you are grazing BSL. :)

You look like you are grazing BSL! Congrats. I wouldn't say your bra is too high, mine sits a bit below BSB as well. I do know some women's bra straps almost hit mid back length though!

This is why I hate this length marker! It just has soo much variation. I think BSB should be used more. It's based on a part of the body and not something that can change everyday. With that being said, I agree with a PP that said BSL is based on your own personal preference of bra/fit, so I would say you're pretty much there...but it also looks like your BSL is pretty much your APL.

Your hair is pretty whatever length you claim.

Beautiful and extremely shiny healthy head of hair. ;)

I don't ask ppl if I should or should not claim a length. I claim what I want to claim. Lol So if you want to be BSL then go right ahead & claim it sister!! :)

Don't worry be happy
You are very close. Personally I prefer BSB (below shoulder blade) because where your bra sits can change, depending on weight gain/loss or the style of bra you're wearing. You have very pretty hair lady.

What do you think went wrong with your sew in?

1. Well..first off..I never really wore sew ins like that. I always preferred my own hair as I cowash almost every day. (I used to go to the gym 5 days a week)

2. I continued my regular hair regimen, except I didnt co wash daily. I just shampooed and cowashed 1 per week. I was told that when wearing sew ins, only to wash at most every other week.

3. I left it in for 2 months. I've heard other keeping it in for 6-8 weeks so I didnt think I was doing anything crazy.

4. Bad installment. The hairlady did not use any braiding hair for my cornrows.

Either way...I'm weaved out!! No more sew-ins for me:pyro:

no you are not there yet based on the picture, but very close.

I agree.

OP, one of the secrets to getting accurate comparisons is to wear your hair the same way and pose the same way at the same spot and have camera at the same spot so that you can get images that are comparable.

Here are your photos side to side (Jan 2013, Nov 2012) respectively:

Because you didn't stretch your hair with your hand in Nov 2012, a fair comparison would be to wear your hair the same way and not stretch it.

Also as someone once posted, unless your hair is natural and in it's shrunken state, stretching hair (which has elasticity as part of its characteristic) isn't an accurate representation of your hair. When your hair is straight, it will fall where it will...so if you keep all images the same, then you will get a more accurate picture of where your hair is.

Also, notice that by reaching back to stretch your hair, you hunched up your left shoulder, so your bra is higher on that side and not horizontal as in the November photo where you stayed straight.

I don't do this to burst your bubble but just to help you better gauge your progress. Coz if you get the wrong impression because of a different pose, then in the next two months, you'll be shattered because you will appear to have not had any progress when you look at your hair and find it is really where you thought it was the last time you looked, only coz that next time you posed right.

BTW, many of us do not use BSL because it's subject to so many errors like as shown in the image below. (Also the style of bra can change the height of the strap in the back again giving for a bad comparison if you don't wear the same bra.)

So we use below shoulder blade (BSB) as the milestone after APL and before MBL.

Thanks Nonie :) Yes my bra is moved out of place when I reached around to grab my hair.

I was lazy and I didn't feel like flat ironing to see my true length but in Nov that hair didn't touch my bra. But I'll flat iron again in two months and compare. I agree that does make sense to do everything the same though. Thanks for your input!

Also I am in the BSL challenge for 2013 somebody should tell OP to change it to the BSB challenge then
