100% Natural or long-term transitioning: 100% Natural
Current Length: Almost APL
Method of washing: Shampoo, co-wash and water rinse
How often: 2/3 times a week (1 shampoo, 1/2 co-washes)
Why: Co-washes for moisture, shampoo for cleaning my scalp.

When I've been sweating a lot (especially during the summer) and my scalp is dirty and it's not time yet for my weekly shampoo wash, I'll do an extra water rinse in between to clean my scalp. I just can't stand a dirty scalp.

100% Natural or long-term transitioning: 100% Natural
Current Length: APL
Method of washing: Shampoo and co-wash
How often: I shampoo once a month. I TRY to co-wash once a week. I voted weekly because that's my ideal schedule to co-wash. Sometimes I go a month and just shampoo at that point....
Why: My hair just loves co-washes. It helps keep my hair moisturized. I chose to shampoo once a month because I only detangle once a month.

Cowash every other day for moisture and shampoo when necessary usually once a week or every other week (depending on how much build up I have).

Default Re: Naturals: How often do you wash your hair?

ive switched to once a week and my hair is doing better... as long as my scalp doesnt get itchy im gonna try for once every two weeks

100% Natural:
Current Length: APL
Method of washing: I shampoo with a clarifier and baking soda. This is what I did when I was growing my hair out and it seemed to work for me. But LHCF told me it was too drying and I stopped... and my hair suddenly became much more unmanageable. So now I've returned to it and am going to see how my hair reacts. I follow up with a deep condition using this method and almost all the same products except instead of a "scalp balm" I use liberal amounts of qhemet AOHC
How often: Once a week... gonna switch to once every two weeks.
Why: I think stripping my hair makes it absorb the dc better. My hair is heavy and damp for much longer this way when without it it seemed as if it couldn't even absorb the water. I run regularly and my hair is constantly dry.

I think my hair is doing much better but I'm gonna give it another couple weeks before I definitively decide it's better.

100% Natural or long-term transitioning: natural

Current Length: between APL and BSL, very close to BSL

Method of washing: shampoo, co-wash, rinsing with water

How often: I shampoo once a week. I co wash maybe twice a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. Or if I'm feeling too lazy to co wash I will just do a rinse with water.

Why: I shampoo to get rid of build up from conditioner and products. I co wash for moisture and styling purposes. I rinse for... well, idk what the rinsing does tbh. Lol.

100% Natural since 1997
Current Length: Between SL and APL curly, WL straight
Method of washing: lathering sulfate free poo
How often: 1x per week
Why: It takes way too long to wash, detangle, style, and air dry my hair more than once a week. Once a week pooing also rids my hair of build-up without drying it out.

Washing" could be shampooing, cowashing, oil rinsing or just water rinsing.

100% Natural or long-term transitioning: Natural
Current Length: BSB stretched
Method of washing: cowash / sulfate free shampoo
How often: cowash daily, shampoo once a week/ when I feel I have some buildup
Why: daily workouts / laziness (it's easier to style my hair wet)

CBL..ish...some hair comes to my collar bone, some touches the top of my shoulders...

I cowash every day, sulfate shampoo once a week since I started back using cones. Before when I was cone-free though, I just cowashed and would sulfate-free shampoo only if I felt my hair/scalp reeeally needed it.

Because it feels good! It's so nice to hop out of the shower in the morning completely refreshed, something that I longed to do back when I was told basically that water was the enemy hahaha and my hair doesn't seem to mind it either :3 Plus my hair smells great!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I HATE the whole thought of shampooing my hair. Just thinking about it makes me tired. My hair loves water as well, but the thought of dealing with it afterwards is a huge process.

Method of washing: Shampoo, ACV (though I'm taking a break from it), DC w/heat
How often: Every other week
Why: I really enjoy washing my hair but can't wash it more than every 2 weeks because of how long it takes. I also flat iron my hair most of the time so I want to restrict the amount of heat I put on my hair.
