LHCF on the Tyra Banks Show!!!!

BTW,

, prchiquita!

I think this needs to stay to us as much as it can. If a woman is really interested in taking care of her hair, then she will find this website just like the rest of us. I have told a few people about the site and they think I'm crazy so I don't really share too much info anymore.

I am new here. I've told my sister about the site and she doesn't really take it seriously, but she wonders why she has horrible split ends!:ohwell: I think a lot of haters would come and taint the site.

ITA! :yep:

Also, I'm concerned about the number of companies having people to join LHCF and pose as genuinely interested members to push their goods, services and steal legit members' pics so that they can exploit and make a buck. That could change this site for the worse.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. We have had people on here try that before.

Please, no one take offense to what I am about to say:

Okay, say LHCF gets featured on Tyra and tons of people come to the board. I'm sure that all a lot of people will take from this board is that black women NEED to use vaginal yeast infection cream and horse stuff to grow their hair. That would piss me off. I know (or think) that the majority of us DONT use these growth aids, but you *know* that people would come on here thinking that. "Yea, they can grow hair, but not naturally." :nono:

No thank you.

Healthy haircare shouldnt be a secret, but some things SHOULD be. :lachen:

Or better yet. Sole, Whale Sperm, and all those dominican products that sound like household products Oh My:nono:

Would be cool just to throw it in there face that makes me mad. People need to get real.

We sure have! I can only imagine to what degree it could happen if this site is brought to the attention of the masses.

Girl.........I thought you was about to say someone was from lhcf on the show or someone mentioned LHCF. :spinning:

Yeah that would be great, but to be honest, I dont know if I want them shouting out the board like that. not that I dont want LHCF to get props, but this place would become a madhouse with new members. I would definately like seeing a show where they talked about healthy hair care for black women with different hair types as well as talk about and even demonstrate some of the practices we do here.

Me too. I also don't want too many strangers coming here at once.

To the OP: Scientifically there is such thing as terminal growth. And I don't care what the ladies on this sight says, genetics has a lot to do with how fast your hair grows and the life cycle of it. As much as the ladies here appose that, no one has provided any scientific proof that genetics has nothing to do what how long you can grow. I'm open minded and and willing to consider facts. Now, you may be asking, why am I here if I believe in terminal growth? I do believe we can achieve our maximum lengh potential with healthy hair care (and other things like vitamins, MN, surge, BT...etc).

(Sorry I went on a tangent...)

yeah, I don't really want anyone learning about this forum too. There was already a girl on Macherie's page saying she had Domincan hair and that why it was that long. She probably came from youtube.com but still, we don't need any more mess on here.

:lachen: OMG really?! Well I don't mind people knowing about good haircare but LHCF is my own lil' secret:look::blush:

:lol: I hate to say it but you are probably right!

for reasons already mentioned... I also wouldn't want our LHCF secrets getting out!:lachen:

I don't necessarily believe in terminal length but I do believe in a terminal time period. I think that has been scientifically proven. I believe that some people may have periods of three years while others may have five. I believe also that when someone uses growth aids it just kind of tricks their hair but their period will still be the same. For instance, a woman with a terminal length may use growth aids one year and get an average of 9 inches. The next year, she uses no growth aids and gets 5 inches. The next year she uses growth aids and gets 9 again. And the end of her final year, where her hair just stops growing, the second phase, she gets 7 inches.

So, the time period where her hair stops is still four years but through using certain aids, vitamins, etc. she has achieved her maximum growth for those years. Opposed to not using anything and at the end her hair will be 5 inches X 4= 20 inches.

A similar idea was proposed on another hair site, and most people said the same thing about keeping the site there own little secret. If you find the LHCF corner in cyberspace, then you are one of the lucky ones....

I think having a subscription fee would curtail some of the drama that would come even if the site got major media exposure, like the tyra show. The paid members paid b/c there was a serious desire to learn about healthy hair. Somebody just looking to start mess wouldn;t be so willing to throw away their money by getting banned. I'm so glad there is fee in place, other wise this would become a really crappy hair site, just like another site is turning into b/c the trolls run rampant over there.

You guys act like you own this site. The only owners of this site is Bev and Nikos.

I tell people about LHCF. I want all races to have long beautiful hair. There are white women, Latin and Indian women with kinkier hair types that benefit from this site.

A member is a member if they pay their $5 dollars. It does not matter if that member posts, lurks etc. You guys act like only those who post, put their personal bs on here, or who are apart of the clique :ohwell: are only members. I do not see a post(s) by Bev or Nikos where that proves this to be factual.

Haters, well some of you have not been so kind to other members. There have been some of the so called ONLY members who have called people out so what difference does it make. Is anyone that special here?

Anyways, whether more haters come that is to be expected in any social dynamic. There will be outcast, scapegoats, cliques, popular etc.

I once did not want my Latin friend on here because of some of the post but I ended up giving her the information. Who cares, I am not the one posting some stuff and my personal information is not out there. If people want privacy than pm a person, get each other email or chat on the phone.

I say the more people that can come the better. I do not own this site and the only one who should decide if more members should or should not come is Bev or Nikos.

This is the Internet and nothing is a secret. Don't post certain things if you do not want your business exposed or things kept a secret:look:

Why pimp the long hair ladies to wear the LHCF shirts. Short and medium hair ladies can wear them also. Someone could see them on the show and see them later and think "my gosh your hair has grown..LHCF is truly the spot".

I should start making flyers at the market to expose LHCF a lot more.:lick::grin:

Having LHCF featured on Tyra's show, or any other show for that matter, would be a NIGHTMARE.

Can you imagine the trolls that would come slitering out of the woodwork? Not to mention the negative perception some hair practices would bring into the public eye.

"Oh, they got to use horse oils to grow their hair, or coochie cream, that ain't natural!" :wallbash:

Plus it wouldn't be our "little secret" anymore...anyone and everyone would be all up in our business. :nono: I'd feel really bad for all the people with their faces in theri avatars...how may would be found out IRL?

We once broached this same idea when Oprah had her "ponytail" episode...ugh.

Yet, is it "our" decision. It is Bev and Nikos decision. I could care less.

I never used the coochie cream  etc. to grow my hair. My hair grows no matter what and my face is not out there. I mean come on ladies this is the Internet. :perplexed

Like spiceykitten said... don't post ANYTHING that you don't want anyone else to know or that you feel embarrassed about on the internet. No matter how secretive you are on the internet, people are bound to find out if they get on the internet to see for themselves.

Thanks Poohbear, that is all I am saying.

Wait a minute....don't twist my text. I was saying the women with the longest hair who are the ones sitting up on stage would wear this shirts. I ain't pimping nobody. Another part was to have women that was a part of this site that could go be able to sit in the audience with those shirts on wether they have hair to they butt or to they eyebrows. Last time I recall a majority of the people on here are trying to grow long hair on this site. Just making sure you realize. I ain't tryn to have nobody on here thinking I'm a hater when I'm not because they read that message:nono:. Thanks!

Oh and this stuff is on the internet anyway. Type in long black hair care in the search engine.BAM ....you will see our convos along with our nicknames on the web. Try it...you will see. I'm sorry since I wasn't putting stuff like yeast infection cream on my head so I forgot all about that. The only thing I'm taking is vitamins because I just had a baby. Sorry yall I don't want folks looking at yall like yall crazy:spinning:. Even though if you type those key words in the search engine you will see those convos too. It just the truth.:yep:

Twist your message:grin::rolleyes: I did not say you were a hater..gosh how people jump on me when I write anything but use to it. Did the word pimping offend you:look: or the fact I said short and medium hair women could wear those shirts..it was just a comment. I am not a short or medium hair defender. I have long hair but like to include all. No biggie..so quick how people judge but do not want you to judge them or make a comment....heard twist a word before...:look: but take that with grain of salt. Oh forgot not apart of the clique..:lachen:who think they rule LHCF land. Oh I feel so sad :grin: maybe I will not be invited to a meet up or requested as a friend.:look: Thank you for being sure little spicey realize something..:look:

ANYWAYS>>>

I think your idea is great, in fact I supported it with my comment. I think that everyone should know that black women are capable of growing their hair, there may be some exceptions like in every race that will never reach a certain point. Yet, the truth is why is it such a big deal that black women prove they they can do anything. Black women have been doing everything under the sun for ages. I really hate the fact that many people still think a black woman has to change or prove anything, even black women themselves. I think it is great other races know a black woman can grow her hair but is it truly that important and if so then a lot people have to ask themselves a deeper reason why?:look:

My only other comment was that LHCF should be exposed more and that people should stop acting like they own this board. I want every black woman, woman of color or any kinky, curly hair woman to benefit from this site. You can learn a lot and I believe in sharing the blessings.

I feel if people are upset about being exposed or others being exposed than don't post your business. Take it to email or pm land. I discuss things with only those I trust and ask people not to share my pics or conversation. If you post online than you have no recourse and if you do not tell people your wishes than you have no recourse either. I like to have more control if my business was going to be exposed. There is no control in Internet land.

Overall, liked your post and that is why I responded.:look: You have no worry..you are not using any coochie cream!:grin: I did not and will not either..so I don't care. As long I know the truth, than who cares what other people think. People will think good and bad no matter what you do.

Girl you had me thinking we was going to be on the show soon. I think its a great ideal but I wouldn't want all these extra people on the site either, I think the site will change dramatically. I don't think it would be as informative and I think there will be more problems. I kinda of feel like I won't be special anymore. This is my secret( I know it seems weird but I kinda of don't want every one to know) Don't get me wrong I want to help "some" people but not everyone. :look:

I have to say I agree with all of this .

LHCF is mine and I don't want 100,000 people hitting it up!:lachen:
ditto!!!
I just think with soooo many members we would loose the close community of the board. Right now there are still members who I don't recognize by screen name but at least I know (in the internet type of way) the women who post often.

I think the book idea is a great one....we can still spread the word about hair care and protect our precious board!!
