Not to be mean, but I find it really awkward for me to fawn over someone's hair which isn't technically "black." So yeah her hair is nice, but I know her texture is not realistic for a black woman. Also, I don't know why, but it seems odd that this picture is posted on a black hair forum. No offense tho.

^^^I wasnt aware you could only acknowledge nice hair if the person is black and/or has a specific texture:(

Hold Up! [seaborn voice] wait a g&%$#! minute!!
.....With a sig proudly displaying a brazilian hair weave install tho? Im quite tickled.
No offense tho.

sure@ your point. however, i was looking at the length, thickness, color and overall health of her hair. texture wasn't a factor to me. ppl fawn over chime's hair all the time and, as you would say, her hair texture isn't typical for most black women. point being, it's done because it's inspirational for all hair types to aspire to long, thick, and healthy hair, no matter the texture.

LOL. First off, there is a such thing as Afro-Brazilian. Secondly, the weave blends with my hair, so *shrugs*. I can't help what they name it for marketing purposes so black people can buy it. Anyways, the texture of the weave I have in my hair is closely related to my natural hair texture so why wouldn't I wear it? I don't see black women with hair like the one in the original post.

But like I said, I'm not trying to start any problems. I admitted her hair looked nice. But I wouldn't have personally started a thread on her hair on a hair care forum for black women. I came in here expecting to see one thing and was met with something totally different. That's all...no drama.

Afro-brazilian, still would be a person of color no?

And I happen to have a BLACK friend with a similar texture of hair.

I love my people, I swear.

Duh! That's why I mentioned it! The girl tried to call me out for wearing an install that is labeled "Brazillian." So I mentioned Afro-Brazilians because they are still noted as people of color. I ain't trying to create any drama. I can't make a comment without people getting all up in arms. It's cool chick. Damn, run along now.

Her hair is luscious and she is gorgeous.

I can't help saying that I often see the term "women of color" applied to all non-whites - especially when it's beauty related; Asian, Black, Latino, etc. While this board is mostly black, the tagline reads: "Ultimate Hair Care and Beauty Resource for Women of Color" and one of the avatars in the banner appears Asian w/ type 1 hair to me.

I have also seen black people with that and similar hair textures before; I don't see how her texture is a problem as we have a such variety of textures just on this board.

Not trying to argue, but just sayin'

I kind of agree with this. I mean I can appreciate beautiful hair in all it's many forms, but I'm not really able to derive any type of inspiration from hair so vastly dissimilar to my own.

That being said, I still think her hair is lush and quite beautiful. :)

But.....
...you bought hair that came from a woman who I would bet money looks VASTLY more like her than you....

Yall can pretend she was """afro-brazilian""" if you want toLOL.

At any rate, I think your hair looks cute, its just ironic that a person who obviously admires the hair of another race of woman by going as far as attaching it to her head, would make that sort of comment.

There are just as many Afro-Brazilians who are light skinned as there are dark-skinned. I don't know who this hair comes from and it'd be kinda silly to engage in a back and forth convo about where my weave comes from. But I doubt this hair is from Brazil and second, we all know it was probably just named that to increase the odds of Black women buying it.
