Hello All,
I have been reading the post and often here you ladies say that you seal your hair with Oil, etc. What is a seal and how is it done and for how long?

Thank you for you time in advance,

Sealing with oil just means applying oil to your hair AFTER a moisturizer or leave - in.

The oil will help keep your hair moisturized by stopping the water from evaporating out of your hair. It "seals" in the moisture.

You just put a small amount of oil in your hair after you put your other products in.

This can be done on any hair e.g. Dry or Wet just as long as the moisturizing item is already applied to the hair.
It's kinda like applying TOp Coat to a freshly painted nail. YOu can apply it on wet nail polish or on dry nail polish.

Yes. Oil should be the last product you put in your hair so that it locks all the good stuff in. You can put it in anytime your hair gets wet/you apply a moisturizer to seal in moisture.

You can put oil on dry hair, but it's not sealing in anything that way. Some people like oil on dry hair, some don't. I personally don't, but you can experiment on your own. :)

No, what you do is apply you moisturizer and than seal it with cococut oil or jojoba oil (anything you have... ).So you can deep condition then apply your leave in if you air dry and than apply you moisturizer just a dime sized amount should be fined. Just remeber oil does not moisturize it merely just coats the hair.
