Hi, Sherrylove
Thank you for your response and encouragement. My hair is approximately 8-10 inches long. I wash it every week sometimes twice (not often though), apply deep conditioner (Aphogee, Cathy Howse or and other Protein conditioner to it). I apply a moisturizer either olive oil, wildgrowth, or luster silk pink oil (not recently though), blow dry (not completely) then air dry for about 2 hours. I tried to do a wetset but my hair is very coarse. It looks good the first day but I'm unable to run a comb through it after awhile. I used to have a perm, approximately four years ago, either stress or too many different stylists caused it to come out. I was diagnosed with having seborrhea dermatitis (scalp disorder).
I had obtained right about shoulder length hair earlier in my stages with the perm but something went wrong. I had prayed for help for my hair and came across the book Why Black Women are Losing their hair and then I found Cathy Howse book another 6". Both were very information. I can't believe that I absolutely knew nothing about moisturing the hair. Yes, I was one of those people who greased their scalp and hair. Now that I look back when I had the perm it must have been the wetsets I was doing to retain moisture. But as I mentioned earlier I am natural with press and curl option and I want to still obtain that length and possibly longer with what I'm doing now. Maybe some day I may revisit the idea of getting another relaxer. Thanks again.
