Is it just me or does there seemed to be......

more posts about shedding and/or breakage this year? I'm on several hair forums and there are loads of post about ladies having breakage and/or shedding AND having a difficult time getting it under control. Has anyone else noticed this?

My daughter and I discussed this yesterday. She and I have experienced extensive shedding for months! We've slacked on our regime. Mine is worse than hers, so bad you can see my scalp in various spots. I stopped taking digestive enzyme caps out of shear laziness last summer. That's when the shedding began to get worse. This was the same time my dr. put me on more meds; so I attributed the breakage/shedding to that. I recently started taking the enzyme caps again and it seems to cut the shedding to less than half.

That's what I said but I'm a minority on naturals and protein. My hair gets overmoisturized with a quickness, but that appears to be the exception rather than the rule.

Coffee, sorry for the mini-hijack, and yes, I've noticed it too :yep:.

OP I have noticed too, along with alot of longhairs cutting and cutting away length.
Ronnieaj ITA with you the whole naturals don't need protein is a myth. Some people need heavier protein some need a lighter protein whether natural or relaxed. I still think naturals need a protein or some can get by with coconut oil (it helps reduce protein loss it's not an actual protein) some need at least a light protein like aphogee 2-minute keratin, and some need a heavier protein if they have consistent shedding and or breakage like AOGBP or aphogee2-step (you must follow with the balancing moisturizer and IMO a good moisturizing DC or your hair will be hard unmanageable)

I'm busting that myth I have less problems with shedding in general and retain more length when I keep my protein/moisture balance in check and I'm natural.
