:lachen:@ultra perm! thank you ladies for the compliments! i do appreciate them. ive been told before that my hair looks fake:look:...:lachen: i think it just looks like how it always looks when its flat ironed. but anyways, i use the serums (the chi and biosilk mix and the sebastian potion 9) after i dc when my hair is towel dried. i use a FHI 1" and i love it. it gets my hair super straight and i also use it when i want curls and they actually stay. im so used to curls falling.
oh, in my siggy that was after my touch-up about 2 months ago.
i dont even attempt flat ironing my hair right now at 8wks post anymore.:nono:

I hate to get too far off topic so why don't you just start a thread so that I can gawk at your blinging hair!!!!

Wow!

Just.

Wow.

im not sure how you wear your hair. you may have mentioned it and i over read. but here are some things i discovered lately:

flat iron: glycerin. it left my hair so soft. i just put in on each section and then flat ironed. i tried that due to me being worried about the moisture loss from the heat but wanted to wear my hair flat ironed for my family reunion and actually came across a gold mine. the chi silk fusion is also good, it's just that the glycerin left my hair feeling more silky and soft and very straight.

when i am wearing my protective styles, i acheive soft silky hair by putting glycerin on after poo and then ntm leave in followed by jbco.

as you can see i love my glycerin. does anyone else use glycein for straight styles. it may not be good for someone wearing a flat style everyday. but for someone like me using it to acheive a straight look that look silky and soft for 2 days it worked wonders.

For me it is deep conditioning weekly. I am currenlty using Neutrogena Triple moisture recovery mask and daily moisture, currenlty using extra virgin olive oil. Olive Oil has been my miracle product!

I LOOOOVVVE glycerin to! Its one of the only things that makes my hair silky. I usually use it to airdry.

My hair was really moisturized with a glycerin moisturizer (carefree, probally about 2.5 hanfulls through my whole hair before airdrying), a couple days later without adding anymore i flatironed a section. It looked good, but a short while later it looked "damp"

So how did you do it?
Did you airdry, put alittle glycerin (pure glycerin or a moisturizer with it and about how much per section), then immediatly iron after? There was no sizzling?
Does it only last 2 days for you?

Products that have given my silky soft hair are...

Cream of nature shampoo
Silicon Mix conditoner
Carefree (glycerin moisturizer)--airdrying
Wild Growth oil --works good for airdrying hair meant to be flatironed also
Using a pressing oil to straighten
Adding salt to conditoner
Oiling then braiding at night
Porosity Controll Conditoner/ACV rinses--like a treatment for cuticles

Something else I want to add to the Salt in the DC, is once my hair dried I put my phony bun in, and it wouldn't stay put. It was silky, I like that, but don't want my bun coming off.:lachen:

i washed my hair and did my deep cond. i didn't have a lot of time to let it all dry (which would have been most preferred) and due to me getting ready to use heat from flat iron, i decided to eliminate as much heat application by applying salerm 21 and set under the hood dryer for about 10 minutes (got it half dry). when it was completly dry i parted my hair in small sections and dabbed glycerin on and flat ironed.

i used pure glycerin (no moisturizer with it in it)

no sizzling

im sure it would have lasted longer than 2 days, it's just that i am big on protective styles. so after the last day of my reunion (sunday) i immediately slapped my hair in a pony and soaked the pony part with ntm and jbco due to all the heat i had applied. i must say that was the slickest my pony tail has ever been.

the reason i stated someone who wear their hair in a straight style would not like this method is because using the glycerin leaves your flat iron with that moist look (almost like flat ironed naturally curly hair). when i get my next perm, i may flat iron it again with the glycerin to see how long it will last. or if you decide to try it pm me with the results.

I'm assuming you're talking about straightened hair. My flat ironed natural hair is always silky and soft. I think it's the combo of my tourmaline blow dryer and ceramic flat iron. No matter what products I use, my straightened hair always feels soft, silky, and moist.

I love adding a bit of honey and jojoba oil to my DC's and sitting covered under the dryer. Soft hair porn everytime!

I tried the salt (results are in my fotki if anyone here is interested)

It works for a lot of people. The vast majority in fact. Just remember NOT to use more than a teaspoon or so of salt and NOT to leave it in too long.

It did up the softness and silkiness in my hair.

Deep conditioning, nightly moisturizing and daily oiling (lightly) keeps my hair really soft.

Also... not recommending this to anyone, just sharing! Texlaxing made my hair texture VERY soft. At this point it actually gets too soft for my liking, so I put gel in it.

I really feel that it's the ORS relaxer. I've been texturized and relaxed before while having a good regimen... my hair has never been this soft before!

This is exactly what's happening to me right now! I don't know what the heck it is with the ORS relaxer, I guess it's the olive oil in it. My hair has only been that soft once before, ironically I finally figured it out right beofre I decided to relax.

You used undiluted glycerin to flat iron...not even mixed w/ water? Just neat? Wasn't it difficult w/ the stickiness?
