Be careful with bobby pins

I love using bobby pins, and I tend to use them daily. Recently I noticed how rough the inside of a bobby pin is-which inevitably can tear down the hair. I compared my new goody and scunci brand bobby pins to my bobby pins bought from sallys. The goody pins are somewhat rougher than the ones from sallys.

Be carefule with the bobby pins you use and peridically check the inside of the bobby pin with your finger. If its rough to the touch, throw them out.

If i'm not mistaken, the goody bobby pins are specially made for a "no slip grip" which is why they have ridges inside, or are "rough". It can be useful sometimes, obviously,but not for daily use. Most other brands of bobby pins dont have any ridges so you can probably be safe.

I use bobbypins all the time, and you're right that it is good to throw them out when they become to rough. Especially when the little rubber/plastic rounded tip peels off, I definitely throw it out because the metal edge snags and breaks my hair.
