I think I might be taking a trip to the mall to purchase the pre-poo treatment. I remember your review about the dominican salon and you had great remarks about the product she used. Thanks for the info. Also...how much does the pre-poo run?

That is a little steep. However, Aveda has good products, and they can last long (if you arent heavy handed). But I'm sure it is well worth the investment. Also using this line with your clients...they probably will be running back to your chair every week!!

Yay:yay: :yay: :yay:

I really hope you like it, because I sure do. I might try it as a pre-poo because they used it as a DC. Let me know how it works for you.:)

I think you'll like it as well (the DR line). It sincerely helped w/ my breakage (along w/ using jojoba oil). The conditioner is not that thick and creamy but I still deep condition w/ it under the dryer w/ really nice results. I'm challenging myself to stick w/ one line of products and stop mixing things. Keepin' it simple in 2007!!!!! I'm still getting compliments on my hair since I last washed it Friday night.

Do you feel the Sapp Moss pre-poo treatment is better as a deep conditioner than a pre-poo treatment? And what other conditioner are you using?

Nychaela (I love this name),

When I went to the salon they used the pre-poo as a DC, so I don't know how it will work as a pre-poo. Tell you the truth, I don't care for knowing since using as a DC worked. The only conditioner that was used was the Sap Moss. I'm surprised at what you said about the conditioner because lots said that the DR conditioner is good. I just rubbed a little on my fingers (I'm still at work) and it I can see why a lot of ladies don't like it. I don't know how it's going to feel on my hair, but it worked when it was done at the salon. That's why I said my hair felt dry, yet soft. It's weird, but once I put my oils on, my hair was loving it.

The only other conditioner/line that I use is KeraCare.:)

Thanks...most people think it's pronounced "ni-shay-la" but it's actually "ni-kay-la".......

but regarding the DR conditioner it does leave you w/ the dry yet moisturized feeling. I do use it but I prefer to use something that feels thick and creamy. I'm going w/ what works and the DR conditioner does it for me. I like it....it almost feels like my texture changed but it's soft. So I kinda understand what you mean about the dry yet moist feeling. Please keep us posted on your continued use of the Sapp Moss line. I gotta save some ducketts so I'm going to hold out on purchasing the line right now and use up my DR.

Sexyaqr,

You can wet your hair then towel dry, apply the concentrate to your scalp, massage it in from your hairline back. Leave it on for 1 -2 minutes then rinse, then shampoo and condition.

Now when I went to the salon, she shampood me 1st, then applied the concentrate to my scalp, massaged it in (as stated above) applied a regular conditioner to my strands then placed me under the dryer for 15 minutes. She then lightly shampood my hair then applied conditioner and detangled my hair with the conditioner, then rinsed my hair.

How you decide to use it is up to you, but these are the two options I know of.

Let me know if you have any other questions.:)

Apparently Aveda has some really great products because I just tried the Aveda Damage Remedy repair and this is the best stuff I have ever used on my hair. I love that stuff, it tops any conditioner I have used so far:) . I may have to check out the Sap moss as well.

Hi Mkstar . Thanks for responding. I was acutally hoping that you would peek your head in because I vaguely remembered you mentioning this line on another board. Have you ever tried the Damage Remedy Intensive Reconstructing Treatment (I think its a weekly treatment)? I would use it as a deep conditioner.

:D

I haven't tried the Damage Remedy Line. I use the Aveda Deep Penetrating Hair Revitalizer or the Aveda Cherry Almond Bark conditioner for deep conditioning and both are thick and work really well on my hair so I haven't felt the need to try anything else.

I'm glad Aveda is getting love on the boards...:D

Yes, it surely has. I'm in love with this stuff. There are a few of us that used KeraCare faithfully and have made the switch, you may also:lol:

I'm addicted to this stuff. I'm going to try to do a blow out on me this weekend.

I purchased the Aveda sap moss concentrate, Aveda DR conditioner and Aveda leave on elixir after the Dominican salon review. I received a sample of the DR treatment and let me tell you, my hair is soooooooooo soft and moisturized after using this line. I am also in love  with this stuff. I have been looking for a product line for moisture and have finally found it.:yay:

I will be purchasing the Aveda sap moss shampoo next and the Aveda Cherry Almond Bark conditioner for deep conditioning.

Thank you so much for the review!!! :)

Hi ladies:wave:,

I just wanted to share some info about the Aveda Sap Moss line with you all.

For those that remember, I posted a review of a dominican salon that I went to last week. Even though the customer service sucked, I really liked my hair and figured out that they used Aveda Sap Moss line on me. Maybe my hair is dryer than I thought, but my hair :love: this stuff. Along with the extra virgin coconut oil (on my ends) and Asante oil, my hair has been functioning very well since having it done 6 days ago.

I've decided to go and purchase this line, because the strength that my hair feels, yet moisturized, really influenced my decision to invest in this line.

I've purchased the Sap Moss Nourishing Concentrate, Sap Moss Shampoo, Sap Moss Conditioning Detangler and the Elixir for a leave-in. I can honestly say that after my hair was done. It was soft, yet dry (if that makes any sense). But I've been using Asante oil and coconut oil on my hair and my hair hasn’t lost any bounce or body:D and I’ve been applying these oils every night. Not to mention that my hair isn’t oily or anything.

I give the dominican stylists props though:up:   , they’ve shown me that I don’t need a lot of products on my hair, and what the Aveda line can do for me. I know some of you may need to use a lot of product on their hair to keep it moisturized, I’m glad I don’t, as long as I’m using these products. I've always loved KeraCare, but I'll be using Aveda just as much also:grin:

I’ve also contacted a distributor. I’d really like to use these products on my clients.:D
luvlonghair, that's very positive of you to be willing to learn and improve your trade. With this kind of attittude, I am sure you're a great stylist. If you were in my area, I'd patronize you. :yep:
