Not quite a fade, but pretty darn close. It's just hair and it'll grow back.

when I was relaxed I cut my hair drastically like every 3 years or so (like to a pixie cut or bob)

but as a natural I cant even dream of cutting it back that short. I think b/c as a natural I needed to grow atleast 5 inches of hair for me to feel like I had hair on my head, and unstretched its only like an inch, basically I have to wait too darn long for my hair to look like its grown.

Every now and again, Yup

I just feel like I've abused my hair, and perhaps if I just shave it off I can just have complete new growth and try and forget what I did to my old hair

But I'm too much of a wuss to cut my hair into a fade. I've done random chops.. a chunk here or there but I always stop. I can never finish the job off.

Good to know I'm not the only one ladies! For those who are having hair issues/mad at your hair at the moment I wouldn't necessarily cut. But for those who just get an itch to cut their hair, JUST CAUSE..should think about it. I'm going to sleep on it..and let you all know my thoughts in the morning.

I'm going to Columbus to visit a friend of mine. She went to barber school a while back...who knows I may come back with a new do'. Of course I'll post pics

I think that has part to do with it. I BC'd after 9 months of growth. I've had locs with color, bad hair practices, all the above. Sometimes I feel like if I start over, like 100% I'll be off to a truly fresh start.

The main reason why I want to cut my hair...I just like short hair I've been wanting to try my hair in a fade since I was like 19-20yr/old. I'm 27 now..still haven't tried it. I've been saying once I reach WL, I'll keep that length for a year, then BC to the fade. I dont feel like waiting that long though

Yep...I'm dellusional
Nope, me too

Anyone else ever feel like that? Probably not considering this is a Long Hair Care forum
Oh girl i get those moments too!!!! i think everyone does at one point or another... at least for a fleeting moment.

if you do it, know it'll grow back, and if you don't do it, know you'll reach your goal much faster

I do but not as much as I use to. I use to cut my hair in a jiffy, and often picture myself my short hair and I would get happy. But I am growing my hair out now and starting all over, so NO, not anytime soon.

I had to cut it all off in march because it fell out in chucks after a coloring and then getting a perm (months apart). Everyone thought I was crazy for cutting it. Now I'm growing it back. It does grow back!

I want to cut my hair, but not into a fade. I have about 5 inches of new growth and I want to go natural. I will do it either in December or wait until next summer. But I do love the ease of short hair.

I have urges to bleach my hair back to blond and then dye it green again, but I NEVER consider cutting it really short, I could get a wig or a weave instead

I used to when my hair was in the overgrown TWA/medium length wasteland. Bit too dramatic? . Seriously, when my hair was between SL and APL, I found I preferred my hair much better as a TWA sometimes and had the urge to just cut it short. Thankfully, I never did and just stuck it out. My last major cut (i.e - taking about 2-2.5" off) was May 2009 and I've only done S&D rather infrequently since then.

I did Feb 2009. I loved it! texturized it, did the mohawk thing, I had a ball with it. Sometimes I feel like cutting it short again, not because I'm fustrated with my hair, but because I felt so superfly with it

It does grow back obviously, but it'll take a minute so be really sure that's what you want.

I did it every year or so for a while starting In high school. Last time I got a short fauxhawk and this was a few years prior to Rhianna making it the new IT thing to do I had already rocked that style and had long moved on when everybody and there momma was getting it. I Havent gotten the urge to break out the clippers recently and I know my Mom is relieved she warned every time I was gonna cut the "life" out my hair and it wouldnt grow back. I also get the urge to start fresh I guess lol

Nope, I have a big head. Real short hair is not a good look on me. The shortest I would cut again is probably apl.

I never BC'd to a TWA, just around bob length. The longer my hair grows the more I get frustrated with styling it (not to mention shrinkage hides my real length so I'm never able to enjoy it). Everytime i see someone with a fade, I get jealous bc I am pretty sure the maintenance level is really simple.

However I am trying to grow my hair as long as possible but I do wonder what it would be like to have a fade; but I have a big head lol

Ya know, I hear this alot from fellow LHCF sisters. And just to represent for the current and recently exiting TWA-ers..... I don't see how this is possible. It has to be a delusion of some kind! You know how you see women who look GREAT and who have like 5 grown kids and they claim that they miss when their children were newborns? Kinda like that

I recently cut my hair into a fade. It was about 2 and a half months ago. It was cbl. It took a bit of getting used to it but now it feels freeing and a cinch to wash and take care. Plus its growing in nice and thick
