Hi girls!
I have recently stumbled onto BKT treatments, and I love it! I am a 4a natural, and I usually press my hair every two weeks, without a problem. I was wondering if there were anyone on this board that is natural and do BKT treatments once a month or more.
I would really like to do the BKT treatments once a month, because I like the lightness that the BKT gives me. When I press my hair with a hotcomb, I can get it just as straight, but it doesn't lay down as flat as when I do the BKT treatments, and I have to wear my hair up most of the time because it doesn't swing...with the treatment my hair actually swings, and I really like that. Also there's no reversion! Even if I were to press my hair with a hotcomb without any product, it would come out too light and airy, and it still wouldn't lay down as flat or have that natural swing.
Now, my concern is that in order for the BKT treatment to be successful, you must flat iron the hair at 450 degrees, and pass the flat iron on each section 5 - 7 times, and I don't want to do this so much that I end up ruining my hair in the long run.
So, if you do the treatment at least once a month:
1. How has you hair held up, and do you have any damage?
2. Do you flat iron your hair at a lower temp and get the same results?
Thank you for your time!
