The Best Reconstructor

I have always wanted to try the Claudie s reconstructor. Her renew protein is my absolute favorite protein treatment, so I'm sure her reconstructor would be lovely on my hair. I might get that next sale.

Trust Me...You will REALLY love this! (Staple status)

It was my understanding that reconstructors are a mix of both moisture & protein. Komaza protein strengthener is a protein treatment that must be followed with a moisturizing conditioner. If that's what you are looking for I agree that the komaza protein strengthener is better than aphogee 2 step by leaps & bounds.

@havilland They still make this????????? I have not seen this product in a while. I love that stuff.

I get it from the Asian beauty supply near my house.

now you got me worried....like i need to go buy all the bottles up.:look::lol:

It's definitely one of my favorites but I used it more when I was relaxed for right after the neutralizing step. worked wonders! i wished i had known about doing that ALL the years i was was relaxed instead of the last 1 or 2 years before i eventually transitioned.

Yes. Reconstructors also contain smaller protein molecules ( ex: keratin amino acids, my favorite) to penetrate deeper and help repair damage to the hair strands. These amino acids are smaller than hydrolyzed protein, and they actually can be very moisturizing when the hydrolyzed proteins strengthen the hair (hence the need to follow by a moisturizing conditioner).
I love Tigi dumb blonde cause it does just what it's supposed to do, it smells great, and I don't need to DC afterwards.

That stuff is the BUSINESS!!!!!! You can get it for a steal at tj maxx or Ross. I have a huge bottle! About 15.00.

I just happen to pull one of my dumb blonde ( i have the 6.7 oz in the silver container), and i realized the ingredients change. The last one i used was bought at the same time, but since i did not read the ingredients on both at the time i was unaware of the change. This one does not have the keratin amino acids, the hydrolyzed wheat protein, nor the panthenol:nono:. It seems to have more cones than i remember as well. It does have hydrolyzed keratin, and some other stuff, but i loved the other one.
Now i regret selling my extra ones last year.
It did hit me that it hasn't been on the shelf at my cvs or walgreens. I usually get it from ulta using my coupons and rewards, so i ll go and see if they have some.
crlsweetie912 do you know which formula you get from Ross or tj maxx?

@ronie

Don't forget to pick up Claudie's Reconstructor:yep:.

I also re-upped on some Tigi Dumb Blonde (Irridescent Silver Tube).

I need to look at it.

Thanks for saying this. I was on the computer the other night, bored, and of course my PJ behind was looking for an excuse to buy something. And i was like: T mentioned something for me to buy, but i could not remember what. I need a back up normalizing conditioner anyways, so i'm paying her a visit. Where do you get your dumb blonde from?

ronie

Yeah, you need Claudie's Reconstructor in your Stash.

I got my recent Tube(s) from e-bay. I hope it is the original formula:perplexed.

Lemme go look at one. BRB

Dumb Blonde = "Moisture Inducing Wheat, Soy, Keratin & Pro-Vitamin B5"

Well there s no more hydrolyzed wheat protein, no panthenol, no keratin amino acids, and no more soy. They also removed the BMS as the second ingredient. Fragrance also moved way up the ingredient list. IT's a total mess. I will use this one, and try to stock on the other formula. In the meantime im ordering Claudies reconstructor.

My Tubes = "Long & Skinny" still have BTMS as the 2nd ingredient after Aqua.

So, they must be the older (original) formula. Pineapple scent.

Very good decision about Claudie.

Ok, so SheScentIt's Okra...yeah, I'm feeling it. It will be in rotation with my SD MSI and Komaza Protein.

Well enjoy it, cause you may not find it anymore. I have been on the look out, and everywhere has the new stuff. I am tempted to order from target since they seem to have a picture of the old one, but it could just be that they did not update the website. Thanks for your reply girlie.

I will check next time I'm in there.

Duo Tex = the best bank for your buck in a bottle and pH balanced??? I use it EVERY time to wash, detangle, etc. I am NEVER without it on wash day. Medium protein, though. $5 for 32oz...

Dudley DRC 28 will change lives. Hard protein. My hair snapped ALL the way back to the scalp. Best reconstructor, hands down.

Aphogee 2 minute = a regular conditioner on my hair. I'm still staring at that bottle, trying to give it away.

Aphogee 2 step = Strong... would repurchase again instead of DRC 28 because it's cheaper. Snaps back to the scalp.

Komaza Protein = Fine for a medium protein. I use it on dirty dry hair. I only clarify with hard proteins because I don't think this one would give me results I want. Waste of effort.

Nexus Emergencee = See Komaza

I honestly prefer liquid reconstructors versus creamier/gel kind. I feel that the creams have more filler.

I wish I could click thanks twice! I forgot that I have a giant bottle of Duo Tex!! pulling that out next wash day. I feel the same way about aphogee 2 minute and I agree totally with liquid vs cream

Thank goodness, I found the last bottle of the original one at Marshall's yesterday! I will troll the other locations to see if there's more.
