Halley's Curl in Natural

After seeing Ediese and Nichi's hair growth using weaves, I've decided to do the same. My goal is waist length hair by December of 2011 and after seeing my progress in a few short months I think I can do it if I leave my hair alone. So I researched for months the best hair to match my 4 a/b texture and the Halley's Curls in Natural is definitely it. Take a look at my pictures because I think you will agree.

My Ruff Puff

Texture Shot

I took this in the car so the lighting isn't the best but I wanted to get a daylight shot

Thanks ladies! I'm so proud because I installed it myself. The hair is kinky so it is very forgiving. It blends seamlessly as you can see from the puff. The puff is all weave and the very front is my hair.

It blends flawlessly great job on the install. It's good to see someone else growing their hair with weaves Im also doing this and transitioning in the process

Sorry for the huge pictures but I am just getting a handle on photobucket but I think it gives you a better idea of how well this hair blends with 4 a/b hair. I don't have to use heat or manipulate my hair too much to blend! Right out the pack the hair looks like it's not going to work but once you brush it out with a Denman brush it looks exactly like 4a/b. HTH.

Fantastic job on your install.. Can't wait to see your progress from weaves. I think they are an excellent ps when done correctly!

How long did you get the hair? Is it hard to manipulate? What products do you use on the hair and does it get dry quickly?

Sorry for all the questions but I'mtrying to decide if I want this hair or to go with another company.

You installed it yourself??? Great job!!!

How long did you get the hair? I got 1 pack of 16 inches. I need another pack of 16 though because I think one more row will make it perfect. Is it hard to manipulate? No, it's actually quite silky when it's wet so it's easy to detangle when you co-wash. It's not as easy when it's dry but if you are gentle then you end up having it look like it's 4 a/b. What products do you use on the hair and does it get dry quickly? I've been using Cantu shea on it and KCCC on my hair. HTH:grin:

wow.... I like this!! might use it when I BC. I have a few questions:
How long is your hair?
How did you do your cornrows; circular or all back?
Did you leave your hair around the edges out or is it only the front that's out?
Where did you buy this hair and approximate cost?

How long is your hair? I am APL.
How did you do your cornrows; circular or all back? I did a crazy looking circular cornrow but I think when I re-install I am going with straight back.
Did you leave your hair around the edges out or is it only the front that's out? I left the perimeter out because I like to put my hair up.
Where did you buy this hair and approximate cost? I bought the hair from Halley's Curls. Here is their website and a direct link to the texture I used.

I just want to add that I think this is a great way to transition because it allows you to play with kinky hair plus your hair is cowashed regularly underneath which is of course great for growth.

Thanks for the tip. I was using this lacefront in my sig for a couple weeks and now I'm using kinky twists to help with my transition. Thanks for showing me another alternative. I see the 12" has sold out. I think the 16" is too long for me right now.

How many packs of hair did you use?

The hair shrinks like crazy! I mean it shrinks to half its size when you brush it with a denman but I think it will blend better in front if your hair is long enough to cover the tracks.

that hair looks great on you. i didn't even realise it was an install. i ordered the natural hair..and it really doesn't look like that. it's more of the creole curly texture. i think they sent me the wrong hair. i am kinda mad about that right now. it said natural on the pack, but it's so not easy to blend with my 4a, mostly 4b hair. hmmm...i may have to reorder and hope i get the right thing this time. yours looks amazing. i am jealous!!

maybe i need to try brushing it out with my denman and see if it looks "kinkier"

Yeah, I was a little scared too when I saw it fresh out the pack. It looked like they sent the HCCC by mistake but when I washed andstarted brushing it I noticed that it got kinkier and KINKIER.

wait. That is not your hair? Can I please have that hair? Please help me find it. Thank you.

I bought it from Halley's Curls and it's the natural texture. I am so in love with this hair. If I weren't happily married, I would have to marry it.

i started brushing mine out...i look like a lion with a mullet. i think i need to add 2 more rows to the front to lose that mullet feel because my hair is too short to not shrink up to a little fro. lol. thanks for the tip though

I hate to ask but I'm gonna do u have some pics with it styled or how do u wear it? How is it behaving? What products have you been using with it? I've been eyeing it since they got it but t alway always looks super huge!!!

wow, this is awesome, i didnt know they had kinky natural hair extensions, i think this is really a great transition style for type 4's as op stated. Looks good too :yep:
