I know that boycotting Korean BSS have been discussed here previously, but was if a fad that just fizzled out?

In the UK the BSS are run by Asians(Indians). I know of very few black owned BSS besides Nubian Jack, but even they still sell Asian manufactured products, that are bad for our hair.

Do you ladies think that its a lost cause, and that we can never regain control of this business, and what are you doing to support black owned BSS's?

( I know that since becoming natural and started using more natural products, (I have only visited the BSS (which was black owned) to purchase the hair for my sew ins, ) )

I would frequent my black owned bss over the Korean, but they just don't have everything I need. Honestly I don't know how they are in business, other than the fact that there is a braid studio in there.I only found them by accident too, no sign. Its sad too, cause the people in there were so nice.

There is one black BSS that I know of (when I lived in Va Beach), but they weren't always the greatest. They were very nice, but they didn't always have everything I needed. I supported them as much as I could, but after a while I just kept finding the things I needed elsewhere.

I cannot find a black BSS in the area that I live in (for that matter a BSS period).

It's disheartening because sometimes I feel like we're fighting a losing battle as well. I try to support black businesses when I can, but in the areas that I live there are not that many of them.

Demi, I know what you mean, sometimes its just easier to get access to a Non black owned BSS, but thats what's so sad. All our money is being invested into other communities. There was a follow up video, and a Korean man, was like "We're only trying to do better for our next generation". While i understood where he was coming from, I was upset because, that money that we earn isn't being used in our communities, to better our children's futures.

Kimmy89 thank you for posting this. I had not idea (or maybe I have refusing to 'see' it).

I went to the link that you provided and I will may EVERY effort to purchase black owned from now on!

I think one of those videos answered your question. The koreans dont let them order anything as they will only sell to other koreans....hence why the lady was talking about a lawsuit if they are asking if you are black or asian when you want to make an order. What has being black or asian got to do with it, apart from taking you out of business!
