People exaggerate the "natural nazi" phenomenon.
Why do so many relaxed heads secretly wish going natural is just a passing fad?
SimplyLive, You misunderstand. A lot of us just don't care. I don't care what the fad is, I do my own thing. When y'all all start relaxing again, or bkt'ing, or "heat training" , that's probably when I'll go natural again, just to be contrary. Why do so many relaxed heads secretly wish going natural is just a passing fad?
SimplyLive, I don't disagree. I encountered my fair share of them. They probably ain't on a hair board, though, so no need to shade us.For every 1 natural hair nazi, you will find 100 people who do not like your "nappy" hair and encourages you to relax.

Within both of these groups (relaxed and natural). I have seen some sub naziism coming out:
Relaxed Sub Groups- No Lye v. Lye
"I will never go back to No Lye because it dries your hair out."
"Never, ever, ever, use no lye, it is so bad for your hair"
"Lye relaxers will destroy your scalp, why do that"
Natural Sub Groups- Flat Iron v. Keep it kinky and curly
" You may as well have a relaxer if you want straight hair all the time"
"Sister, God gave us these kinks and you want to flat iron them out, nothing but self-hate"
I have read comments like this on boards and I have heard them on YouTube.
It seems as though some people feel as though their way is the only right way. NEWS FLASH......No it is not. THere is nothing wrong with giving helpful advice or sharing what has worked for you. But respect that it may not be for others or they just simply Don't want to do it.
i decided to go back to no lye. the lye was leaving me under processed, and i wasn't about to go up on the strength of the relaxer. i was afraid of going back to it at first, until i did the research for myself. ignorance will have you stuck in a box that you might not be able to fit in!
You know, I'm starting to think that kind of ease really isn't as "unicorn status" as we make it seem.@Honey Bee You're funny girl!
I understand. But although I know that the ease of my hair is not the norm, I wanted folks to know that we are out here and that natural hair is not a struggle for eveeryone.
I hate all of u! Y did I just get accosted by a natural nazi in walmart?! I have my hair in a fro-hawk today. Nothing special. She comes up to me saying " I love your hair don't ever change it EVER! they want us to perm our ish!!!" all I could do was smile and nod because she scared the bejeezus outta me!!
Lol Yea right. I would like to see someone try to frown at me as I slowly walk pass them with my WL relaxed hair blowing in the wind as it smacks them in the face while smelling like strawberries & cream from a fresh cowash.
Too much??

I feel like so many naturals are just committed to doing THEE most
I mean, I can't tell people what their hair needs or wants but I refuse to believe ANYBODY'S hair is gonna melt away from their heads unless they do 5 hours of detangling, 3 different treatments/week and use up industrial sized vats of buttahs and oils.
for the record, I do the hair of a lot of natural heads in my family ranging from 3's to 4a-b-c-z-x-*-& and all anybody ever really needs is a good wash/DC and nice leave-ins or moisturizers.
I'm natural as long as your hair looks good I like it. I like good looking hair relaxed/natural/unsure/real or fake
Your relaxed hair is truly amazing...
someone who has been natural all her life checking in. you guys are absolutely right. a lot of this militant and judgement towards relaxed heads comes from newly naturals. i know for me, i was never ever concerned (and still am not) with what other people do with their hair. however, i do appreciate though when people transition from relaxed to natural bc it seems difficult at times; i like seeing perseverance (w/anything).
no matter how you get it there (relaxed, texlaxed, flat iron, etc.) - i just LOVE and appreciate healthy, long hair.
