Product reviews (super long but with pics)

Can you explain your wash-n-go process? I have all the Shea Moisture items you mentioned and I would love to try a successful WNG for the warmer months.

Thanks,

This thread is REALLY tempting me to BC. I haven't had a perm in 2 years but I just can't seem to let all of this hair go! But once I do, I can't wait to do wash n go's like yours!!!

Wow..this was an awesome read..I was sitting here with my jaw dropped, like awesome results every time. Thanks for the reviews!!

Aww, thanks and you're welcome :)

My wash n gos are pretty simple and don't take long, I'm done under 5 minutes, I just have 3 steps, condition, moisturise, style.

I cowash with one of the many conditioners I have but my faves are (in no particular order) Aussie moist, HEHH, HETT, HE tousle me softly, Suave almond and shea, Suave aloe vera and ginseng, tresseme luxurious moisture, mane n tail regular.

I pat it dry with a pair of tights I cut up to make my own bootleg Curls cloth :giggle: or a microfiber towel. Then moisturise with either KCKT (straight) or Giovanni direct leave in. The Giovannie is a bit thick so I dilute it using Kimmaytube's recipe (1 oz leave in, 1 oz aloe vera juice, 1 teaspoon castor oil, 1 teaspoon avocado oil or substitute your own fave oils)

Then I add one of my stylers from the list in the OP. I take a bit of product (about a quarter size) and run it over the whole of my hair as if I were making a ponytail. Then I take another dollop to the right side, then the left, then the back. After that I give my hair a good shake and it naturally parts down the middle and I'm done.

kandake if you do you should definitely buy it from Target, they almost always have it on sale for $2.50. Sometimes it even comes with a sample of shampoo and conditioner for that same $2.50.

I mix my Elasta QP Mango butter with my kinky curly knot today and I really like it. The Mango butter does not work well as a moisturizer because it is so thick. It works well as a sealer and it is good for my DD's natural hair.

I also useit as a hand creme

Great reviews OP: My hair likes Shea Smoothie too!..............Not Miss Jessie...

Happy Hair Growing!

Thank you :yep:

@Riverrock I've been told 4b & 4c, I figured I gave you guys about 20 photos of my hair so you see what it looks like .

It falls differently depending on how many days away from a shampoo I am, these are naked dry freshly shampooed hair:

And this is naked dry hair after I spent maybe 2-3 days cowashing daily:

I meant to add these to that naked hair thread but I forgot.

Ms lady,

You are in no way shape form or fashion a 4bc anything.

You are because of the diameter of your curls a fine haired 4ab (think Kimmay) or haircrush. You have more shrinkage than haircrush though. Some might even go as far as to say 3c4a but the size of your curl is smaller than a 3c

The whole hair typing thing confuses me. Sometimes I'll look at 4As and think that looks like my hair, then I'll look at 4Bs and that looks like my hair too:drunk:. I thought maybe I was a fine 4b. Anyhow, I don't dwell on it too much, I know what my hair does and likes I just claim type 4 and keep it movin.
I find that porosity and texture matter more. My left side is more coarse and has low porosity so it doesn't hold moisture well vs the right side. The curl pattern looks the same but they act differently. I think we put too much emphasis on just type *shrugs*

I didn't think to mix the qp with a leave in :scratchch it was so heavy that the only think I could think to do with it was style my hair.

Oh gosh I meant i mixed it with my KKKCustard. OH Gosh I really need to start proofreading first.

Also I only commented because you said so:grin::grin:.

I dont only place emphasis on type.

I completely understand what you mean by having different areas do different things.

My hair is 4ab however I have high density and med course strands. My hair does not like too much moisture (did not either as a natural head)

I may try adding something creamy to my KCCC to see how it works

No problem, I only commented on it myself because I was asked. I just didn't want the thread to veer into 'what's my hair type territory', people would start popping pens open, bust out the macro feature on cameras until Nonie gets called in here to show us her hair for clarification :lachen:
