I actually did well on the 1st leg. I used my 1st pass for the V-day Shescentit sale, and I used the 2nd pass for a KBB Mask from the BGLH website using a coupon code. I also ended up buying a bottle of safflower oil also, lol...oops :look:. But other than that, I'm very proud of myself! The only staples I repurchased were KCKT, Henna, and Eco Styler Gel.

Oh yeah, I didn't know we could change staples lists? That's great, because after being on this challenge for 3 months, I've learned even more of what my hair can do with and without!

Old List
1) Kinky Curly Knot Today
2) Castor Oil
3) Henna (I actually will be buying more since I only have 2 boxes left)
4) Oyin Hair Dew
5) ApHogee 2-Step Treatment
6) Trader Joe's Nourish Spa
7) Eco Styler Gel
8) Mango Butter
9) Shescentit Banana Brulee Moisturizing DC
10) Shescentit Super Soft Honey Conditioning Rinse

New List
1) Kinky Curly Knot Today
2) Coconut Oil
3) Henna
4) Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Conditioner
5) Shea Butter
6) Shescentit Banana Brulee Moisturizing DC
7) Shescentit Super Soft Honey Conditioning Rinse
8) KCCC
9) ?
10) ?

What are you ladies doing to use up some of your products? I find that I keep jumping back and forth between products just becasue I want to try something "new".

13StepsAhead I go for the smaller ones first and stick with it till it's done, then you get to pat yourself on the back. Right now I'm using up a Garnier putty, those things are only 5 oz, doing daily wash n gos, I'll be done with this tub by next week :yep:

If I am only using staples in a category I am rotating 2-3 products. If it is something new I've tried and I don't like it I just continue to use it until I am done. I don't rotate it at all but use exclusively. This way I use it up faster.

I used a pass already. I really had to do a hardcore protein treatment on my hair becasue I think I have some slight heat damage from the blow out I did 2weeks ago, so I used my sallys coupon and purchased the large bottle of Aphogee 2-step. I already had the balancing condish and moisture poo so I didn't spend too much.

Well I'm doing great with not purchasing, not so great with using up stuff. I've been washing weekly and either wearing my hair blow dried or roller set so I don't use a lot of product. I did use up my IC Sparklelites gel, now I'm working with the big tub of EcoStyler clear gel I had. I do not like it at all! But I have to use it up. It'll probably last all year. :(

Woot, I think I did really well. I used 2 passes

I bought

Sallys
Argan Oil EcoStyler (Pass)
ORS Olive Oil Smooth and Hold Pudding (Fail)

Hairveda
Amala Creme Rinse (Pass)
Ph 24/7 Balancing (Pass)
Cococasta oil (Pass)

Sunflower Oil

Old Staples:
1. KCCC
2. KCKT
3. Elucence Moisture balance condish
4. Miss Jessie's WDT
5. Jojoba oil
6. Shescentit moisture mist
7. AOHC or Burdock Root (is this ok? I use one in the cold months and one in the warmer months, it is either or. Does this count as 2?) If it does count as 2, I will say AOHC.
8. Honey Hydrating Balm
9. AOHSR
10. AOGPB

New Staples
1. KCCC
2. KCKT
3. Hairveda Amala Creme Rinse
4. Miss Jessie's WDT
5. Jojoba oil
6. Shescentit moisture mist
7. AOHC or Burdock Root (is this ok? I use one in the cold months and one in the warmer months, it is either or. Does this count as 2?) If it does count as 2, I will say AOHC.
8. Honey Hydrating Balm

I am beginning to wonder, how much of a 'staple' these things are. Save for the Jojoba oil, I haven't touched any of my staples since last year. Trying to work through all the other stuff...

I used 3 bottles of conditioner and I consolidated 5 half empty bottles into one. Since I started using Amla treatments again I will used that mix of conditioners to mix my Amla treatments and co-wash afterwards. I'm on a role...

I am using up stuff a bit slower this time. I am struggling with wanting to buy stuff which makes no sense since I have one unopened box from weeks ago on my couch. The other box on my couch I left at the condo office for over 2 weeks. I just opened it on Wednesday so I can use the dc. So obviously I don't need to buy ish .

Oh yeah I will need to reup on Kinky Curly Knot Today during this leg. It's on my staples list so I am good to go. I usually only buy 2 but may buy at least 3 this time That's if the store has that many. The section always looks ran through.

The great thing about this challenge is that I'm really getting a handle on what my staples are; I guarentee that list will change slightly with each leg (which isn't a bad thing).

Welcome to the challenge. @ the bolded my understanding is that this challenge only applies to actual hair products and not appliances/tools. Now if I'm wrong I surely failed becasue I had to re-up on my conditioning caps and claw clips and I just purchased a new wig.

This only applies to actual hair products :yep:. My using up has slowed way down. That's okay as long as I am using up.

I'm using my last pass at the BB hair show this weekend in Baltimore. I don't think I will buy too many products; I really need a good blow dryer with a diffuser and comb attachment,
