My Megatek journey

thanks again ladies. I actually purchased curlformers this weekend and used them last night!! They turned out great. I think this will allow my natural hair to rest and not put any heat on it. Pics coming soon!
 
My curls are bouncy and soft!! This is a great product to invest in!

You have to tell us what you did! Products used, etc....

I have curlformers and I'm trying a personal challenge of no heat at all until May (I started no heat in Nov). But....I don't have my technique down yet and I haven't been thrilled with the results.

Was thinking of starting a Curlformers thread but I don't have any pics yet.....
 
hey ladies!!

I am back again for my end of the week updates. My curlformers did not last that long. Only two days. I will try to sleep another way the next time so they wont be so flat in the morning. My megatex journey has been great so far. I am now starting to use it throughout my hair and not just in my back nape area. I will post pictures tomorrow morning of the growth and also do a comparison for you all.

This is amazing growth!! how are you using it? and what products are you using with it?
 
I LOVE MT, however I am very careful with how I use it.

Yes, it does have an (almost) immediate impact on my hair, but I find the hair is weaker than hair that grew at its normal rate try to over-do in other areas as well. For instance, the MT gives incredible protein boots, so I make sure to keep my hair extra moisturized. I make sure to take my HSN vits (even to take extra), and I try to minimize other protein products. Also, I found out the hard way that MT used straight was not a good idea, so I always mix with CO and Amla (which on their own strengthen hair and minimize hair loss). Lastly, I have found that MT works better in cycles, not daily for extended periods of time. So I will do one week on and then one week off. For my hair, the week off tends to be where I experience the most growth.

These are just my findings (I have been using on and off since last March). Good luck in your HHJ.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes I do not use Megatek everday either. I use it mainly after I wash and condition my hair. I co-wash every other 3 days just depending on my hair. I mix mine with jojoba oil now but I will try shea butter soon. Since I just started to use throughout my hair I am waiting to see any new growth. My thinned spots in my nape area are now thicker and fuller which i am very happy about!!

Thank you Aspire! Your feedback is exactly why I have been subscribing to all the MT/OCT threads and challenges!

I have been using MT 6-7 days/week since Dec. 27 but I haven't noticed any miracles. My hair is maybe a little thicker but I find it difficult to tell....after reading your post I will take a week off and see what happens. :yep:
 
Hello ladies. This is a better updated picture of my nape area. As you can see the thin areas have filled in great!! I have used this product for only 3 weeks and have seen a good amount of thickness and growth.

Your progress is inspiring.

I am also using Megatek to thicken my hair back up. I experienced thinning after taking BC for a few months. I am using Megatek (mixed with a few other things) and I can see it thickening up...but I still have a ways to go to get my entire head back on track.

Thanks! I am going to try to mix it with other oils starting next week. I will also get a sew in next weekend so I am hoping to have alot of growth from that as well.

I have an entire bottle of MT that I will mix with JBCO and jojoba oil.
 
Thanks love! Yes it has. I didnt realize how bad it was until I took the 1st picture and saw the "naked" spots. I was so sad, and now it has really filled in and my hair is alot thicker. How has the MT done for your hair?
 
hey ladies!! Its me again. I will update this thread later on today with this weeks progress. Since my bald/thin spots have thickened up I will now focus on the overall health of my hair and length. I will take pictures of the length in the back now and do comparisons of that every week!!!
