Keep It Simple Challenge 2011

Checking in, steamed for 20 mins with CG herbal oil infusion and HHBR Coconut conditioner, co-washed out with AO white camelia, applied nioxin scalp therapy conditioner for 5 mins rinsed, and applied apoghee 2 min reconstructor rinsed, and applied leave-in conditioner and blue magic to air dry. Will unbraid and put in bun tomorrow.

I want to joint the simple plan. I will wash 1x a week and maybe co-wash 1x a week.
My three main hairstyles: bun, braidout, flat-iron maybe 1x every 2 months
Products:
Hair one olive oil shampoo
Creme of nature moisturizing conditioner
Chi keratin mist
Carol's daughter healthy hair butter
Carol's daughter hair balm
B&B hair moisturizer
VO5 strawberries conditioner
Elasta qp hair glaze

Checking back in! Updated regimen:

-Co-washing with aussie 3 minute or giovanni smooth as silk deeper moisture every other week

-Moisture spritz everyday

-Moisturizing with S-Curl No-Drip
-Sealing with african butter

That's it.

Checking in, still on my regimen and seeing retention month to month. For the first time since my BC I'm able to put all my hair in one bun with only a few strays.

Ok... new regi (sorry, this will be long... lol)

I'm keeping it super simple, and I'll walk 4 miles if I break this regi.

Products:
1. Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Control Shampoo
2. Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol
3. ApHogee 2-Step
4. Burt's Bees Baby Bee Nourishing Oil
5. ORS Lock & Twist Gel

1st and 3rd Sunday
1. Separate into 12 sections and finger detangle with oil
2. Twist each section and add clip to ends to keep from unravelling
3. Wash scalp and twists with diluted Shea Moisture shampoo
4. Apply ApHogee, comb, and re-twist. Dry under hooded dryer. Rinse
5. Divide into 24 smaller twists using Lustrasilk and sealing with Burt's Bees Oil
6. Apply cold wave rods on the ends. Air dry overnight
7. Unravel twists and bun/pin up until Thurs (I'll wear a stretched style Fri - Sat)
8. Re-bun or pin up stretched hair on Sunday morning

(I eliminate step 4 on the 3rd Sunday and sit under the dryer with Lustrasilk for 30 minutes after step 2. I then proceed with steps 3 and 5-8)

I'll finger detangle with diluted Lustrasilk, seal with Burt's Bees, and re-twist on Sunday night to repeat the process until next wash day.
I will repeat the process once before washing again.
I'll moisturize my bun and edges with diluted Lustrasilk (in a spray bottle) and baggy my bun every night.
I'll also apply a little gel to my edges as needed.

Tuesday night
Undo bun and spray with diluted Lustrasilk. Seal with Burt's Bees. Re-bun and baggy

Thursday night
Undo bun and style using Lustrasilk and sealing with Burt's Bees

Okay... seems like a lot but it's not really. Just a bun Sun - Thurs; out Fri and Sat. Wash every 2 weeks; protein every month. I just wrote out every detail... lol. (More for me than this thread)

I MYHAIR84 will KEEP IT SIMPLE for the next three months. I will not change my regimen, nor will I manipulate my hair excessively in this 3 month period. If I should break this regimen I will exercise 1 more day a week (5x instead of 4x).
Products:
1.SE Mega Moisture DC
2.SSI Coco Cream
3.Oyin Honeydew
4.Oils (various, but more so castor)
5.SSI Macadamia nut gel
6.SSI herbal pomade
(7.)Suave condish (various, but more so aloe and water lily and tropical coconut)
(8.)Henna

Regimen
-DC 1x/week
-Co-wash 1x/week (or as needed-no more than 2x/week)
PS 1x/week (two strand twists)
Twist-out middle of the week (Wed) until Fri (or Sat)
Henna 1x/month (or every 6 wks; depends on the condition of hair)

Hope that this regimen can get my hair some stability. It may change because I'm looking for a little more of a thicker leave in.

Picture is pretty old and doesn't really give length but I will give a better one today.

I had a scalp outbreak of itching and dryness so I had to stray and get some t gel...
I guess I couldn't hack it out keep up the good work for the rest of the ladies

i've been cowashing atleast 2-3 x a week, and wearing my hair mostly in a bun or pony...even if i start the day off with my hair down, i put it up within a couple hrs because of the heat/humidity...i plan on getting some twist extensions sometime next month.

SUPER SIMPLE

You MAY NOT use more than 6 products in your regimen

Everyone gets ONE product pass to try a new product.

Challenge begins today June 1 and ends August 31

I'm In. OP did you mean it begins July 1?

I Glamazon386 will (KEEP IT SUPER SIMPLE) for the next three months. I will not change my regimen, nor will I manipulate my hair excessively in this 3 month period. If I break any of these rules, I will give up sweets for a week to punish myself to remind myself that I have goals to reach.Products:

1. Trader Joes Tea Tree Shampoo
2. Tresemme Naturals Conditioner
3. DC - Have yet to decide what this is yet
4. Eco Styler Gel
5. Jane Carter Nourish and Shine
6. Jane Carter Wrap and Roll

Regimen: Wash and DC once a week. I'll post my starting picture after the HYH Challenge is over next week.

Yeah, I am gona bow out. I still am keeping it simple but I am still tweaking my regimen at this point.
HHG ladies!

So far so good, this is week two on washing once a week and only manipulating my hair on wash days so far my hair has been in a bun since Sunday, and all I'm doing is moisturizng my ends by spritzing them while still in the bun and sealing them with grease. The rest of hair I either spritz or apply a moisturizing butter and that's it.

glamazon386 Nah, June 1 is correct, its almost been a month since the challenge started.

I forgot to check in last week, oops! I washed and wore my hair in a bantu knot out for a couple days and now I am bunning it up for the rest of the week.

My "orange" hair was driving me crazy so I dyed it. :) Guess hair dye it's my 5th product now.

Your hair looks beautiful! Is that a natural wave pattern for your hair, or did you set it in some way to get that wave?

Well ladies its been a month!!! I must say that I really like keeping things simple, my hair takes very little time to do and I still get to enjoy it. Plus, I enjoy that once a week washing more because that is when I get to play in my hair, thus making it a fun experience.

You ladies seeing any benefits so far?

*I am going to use my pass today and wash with the new CON Argan Oil Shampoo, I will air dry and then do a dry twist out

Just checking in. I co-washed on Monday after exercising and put my hair in two-strand twists (current hairstyle). I did buy some new moisturizers :look: so i am going to rotate my moisturizers. I will also DC this weekend (most likely Sat) and do a protein treatment (henna or aphogee 2-min, I'm not sure).

Checking in: i pre-poo with Vatika overnight(sat) washed and DC for 1 hr with Joico Moisture recovery treatment balm, added leave-ins blow dry and flat iron..on wed, shampoo and then DC with Garnier Triple Nutrition Conditioner while i showered.. rinsed added aussie moist then rinsed, added leave-ins and air dried overnight. my results were soft detangled hair.

checking in. I am still using the same products as my beginning post. I am currently in two-strands right now and will take them down tomorrow per my regimen. My hair feels stronger (Henna/Aphogee 2 min) but a little dry so I need to DC this weekend which I will do.

Ok ladies, who is still going strong?

I have kept up with this regimen, but I have also found an even simpler way of doing things. I did try the Creme of Nature Argan Oil Shampoo and will incorporate that into the next round of this challenge.
