In Need of Inspiration [PHOTO REQUEST]

Hi, ladies!
I am transitioning for 17 months, and was wondering if natural ladies with 3c/4a and 4a hair types could post pics of their hair with 16-18 months of growth, if possible. Got the idea from Whimsy's thread that just got bumped up and I'm just looking for inspiration/wondering what to expect when I chop in about 6 months.

Well,

Here is an example of around 18 months (give or take a week or two) of growth - with probably about 3 trims of a couple of inches each (I really should baby my ends more):

This is End of July, 2008 (stretched was probably about collarbone or so):

And here is February 2010:

Please keep the inspiration coming! Again, I am hoping to see about 16-18 months of growth, preferably if you transitioned and chopped at the 16-18 month mark and have BC pictures, or if you shaved it all off and have pics at the 16-18 month mark. I prefer those, but any pictures showcasing 16-18 months of growth will be greatly welcomed and appreciated!

It's all good! I don't think I made it that clear from the get-go. I was just kind of confused because the difference in the pictures was 7 years, so I wasn't sure what was going on and thought that maybe I needed to clarify. But I appreciate the hair porn regardless.
Congrats on all that growth!

Beetlebug!!!! You're my hero! Your hair is GORGEOUS!!!
You know you gotta share that regi!!!

Thanks!

Shampoo when needed w/ Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo
Cowash when needed w/ a cheapie conditioner. Usually Suave or Aussie Moist
Moisturize when needed w/ Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream
I rarely dc :look: but I'm working on improving that.
I use Eco Styler Krystal Gel (wash n go) or Hairveda Whipped Jelly (twists) as my stylers.
I mostly keep my hair in twists and twistouts which has allowed me to retain all of my length. Currently, I'm about 1 inch from brastrap.

I transitioned for roughly 18 months. Here are some pics of my hair after my "big chop":

They're not the best pics (and probably not very inspiring) but there they are. :)

^^ You're a slow grower? It looks great to me!

Yes, unfortunately I am a slow grower.
I am 20 months post now with only 8 to 8.5 inches of hair.
I think I average .4 inches a month.:nono:

I think I have found the culprit besides my PCOS.
I joined myfitnesspal and after tracking my meals for a week, I realized that I am not eating half of the proteins that I should in one day.

So now I am on the hunt for high protein, meatless sources of food.

Natural again ... this time for good!
I transitioned for 18 months exactly. I've shared my big chop photos so many times before, but they certainly apply to this thread, so I'm sharing them again. Again, this is 18 months of growth:

Wet hair - right before the cut (peep the crazy stringy relaxed ends)

Wet hair - mid cut

Wet hair - finished cut

Wet hair - finished cut (close up)

Semi-wet hair - styled with coconut oil and conditioner

Hair 80% dry - back shot

Thank you for the compliment!! :) Here is pretty much what I do to my hair (I copied it from the "about me" page of my fotki):
My routine is fairly simple. I shampoo* my hair 1-2 times a week, and deep condition as I feel it's needed (1-2 times a month maybe). I usually “pre-poo” before washing my hair by misting it with water and adding an inexpensive conditioner. I clarify my hair as needed, to handle any product build-up on my hair (which works out to be every other month roughly).

I try to manipulate my hair as little as possible, and only comb my hair in the shower when my hair is completely wet. I use a Jilbere shower comb for most of my detangling and do this holding my hair under the water spray (which I've found makes detangling much easier). I still use my Denman brush to detangle, but have started using it less (because I find I loose less hair without it).

Once my hair is shampooed and conditioned, I put in my leave-in moisturizer by smoothing it onto my hair in sections (no parting or combing is done during this part—only finger styling/manipulation—to minimize frizziness). After that, I make sure to seal the moisture in by using a nice oil (which I smooth over my strands, concentrating it at the ends).

My current favorite products:
Organic Root Stimulator Creamy Aloe Shampoo (esp. nice in hard water)
Roux Porosity Control Shampoo (helps my hair retain moisture better after I use it)
Dove Intense Moisture Conditioner (all time favorite conditioner)
Aussie Moist Conditioner (for my pre-poos)
Lustrailk Shea Butter Cholesterol Plus (I use it both as a deep conditioner & occasionally as a leave-in)
Africa's Best Liquid Hair Mayo (my staple leave-in)
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (from GNC)
Proclaim Olive Spray-On Glosser (smells wonderful and works great)

* Sometimes I use more than one shampoo while washing my hair (one for the first lather and a different one for the second lather—it just depends on what I feel my hair needs).
