Growth vs. Sleep Patterns

b) What side do you sleep on (left side, right side, back)?
c) How are you wearing your hair for bed / daily?

Just curious to know the relationship between sleep patterns and hair growth . . .

Here are my responses:
a) fastest - back / slowest - sides
b) sides (left and right)
c) bed - plaits / daily - instant weave, plaids underneath

My right side grows the fastest
I sleep on my left side the most...im trying to get out of that habit
I wrap up my hair at night or have rollers.

~My right side grows the fastest and the crown area the slowest.
~Mostly I sleep on my back or right left side.
~For bed I wear my hair with absolutely nothing on it. I know thats a no a NO NO (I need to break this ugly habit) and daily I'll wear my hair in a ponytail.

Fastest: Crown Area
Slowest: Nape Area

I switch from left to right several times during the night.

c) How are you wearing your hair for bed / daily?
Right now I have cornrows in my head, but...
when I wear a bun, I wear my hair in a bun for bed;
when I wear my hair blowdried straight down, I wear my hair wrapped around my head.

My Back grows the fastest and my front and crown grows the slowest...

I sleep all over the place...lol I dont stay in one spot or on one side...

I wear a sew-in so my hair is cornrowed underneath and i put my weave up in a bun and wear a scarf around my edges...

- The hair on my left side grows about the same rate as the right but is much thicker.
- I sleep with a satin scarf. During the day I just wear it out and leave it alone.

Grows the fastest in the back and on the sides; midddle and front are sort of slow. I start off on my back and always wake up on my stomach angled to my left side.

you may be on to something.


The entire peripheral--the sides are the slowest
The back/center is super fast
the top is moderate.

I sleep on my left or right side with a scarf on my head otherwise in hair rollers.

Right side, which is the longest, fastest growing section of my hair.

my back grows the fastest, and I sleep on my left side, but my left is shorter than my right side. my sides grows the slowest, and I sleep with a satin scarf every night.

1) I think all of it grows pretty evenly.

2) I toss and turn from side to side, and occasionally wake up on my back. Favorite side is my right side, though.

3) I wear a satin scarf to bed, and may put a satin bonnet over the back to cover it if necessary.

You might be in to something. The right side of my hair is fuller than the left. I always sleep on the left side

a) My hair seems to grow at the same rate on both sides, in front, and in back.
b) I sleep on my right side the most.
c) bed - wrap and sleep on a satin pillowcase, daily - wear hair down or in a low ponytail for work, wear hair in high ponytail or down outside of work
