Flexi-rods on Natural Hair.

Just wanted to share. I bought 5 packs of flexi-rods yesterday and I wasn't sure if it would be enough for my head. I wanted to see the min. amount of rods I can use so the curls could look right. This is trial one.

I started off with a 1 day old braid-out. I sprits my hair with water, added Cantu She butter and then brush my hair. I ended up using 7 grey rods on half my head. (the reason I did only half my hair because it was 2 in the morning and I was too lazy to do my whole head.)

The next trial I am going to do my whole head, cut my sections in half and add IC gel. If anyone what me to do an update just let me know and I will.

Pic- The first 4 pics are the results I don't remember if this was before or after I separate the curl. It could be both. The fifth pic is the other half of my head. It was in a bun.

This is how I did my hair after staring in the mirror for 15-20 mins. I had to go out to the green grocer for some fruits.

I would love to see an update. I'm contemplating doing a flei-rods on my hair, but haven't figured out what to use to set it yet.

Here is an update. Yesterday I detangled my hair. I tried to get as close to the roots as possible but when it seemed that I was pulling my hair out I stopped. What I used was water and IC Aloe gel (I think it is). I didn't get the roots wet much but the ends were definitely coated. I made the sections smaller than I did before and I might of used about 23 rods.

I slept in them (was not comfy at all) and the next morning I took them out and styled. It took me about 45 mins to style it to my liking but now that I know what I am doing it should go faster. My roots are not smooth at all so I ended up putting a scarf on the front part of my head. Next time I plan in braiding the roots and then curl to see if it would be better.

The pictures below are when I just finished styling. Oh and I only used bobby pins for the style. (more pics coming)

Here are the rest of the photos. The 1st photo is a continuation from the ones above. The last 2 are after I put on the scarf, left it on for a while and took it off.

I have to learn how to do my hair. When I was relaxed it was always buns and ponytails. I still kinda do that now that I am natural, but it is also mostly braids and twists. Since I am on this no heat challenge and I have a wedding to go to....well I came up with this. If I wasn't on the challenge I would of just straightened it.
