EU / UK Ladies can you please recommend straighteners/ Flat Iron

So my Remmington/ Phillips 20 GBP job died last week when I was in Paris at a very inopportune moment. So now I am on the hunt for new straighteners.

So can you please recommend??? I am totally clueless and my Remington were pre LHCF before I knew that all straighteners were not made equal.

It would also be great if you could recommend brands that I can readily buy in the EU/ UK as I am not too hot on paying exorbitant shipping or having to buy voltage converters and all that hassle !

Thus far I have researched the following:

GHD

The blowing up aspect of these worries me :look:

Braun

Babyliss

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BaByliss-20...coliid=I1616OVC4W3LHP&colid=XJUT05QPQYBAThese have had complaints of "snagging" :look:

I am wondering how good these can be for 20 GBP :look:

Chi

I can only seem to find these on eBay and I am not a fan of buying things like straighteners on eBay:look:

SIDE NOTE
I am also on the hunt for a blow dryer as my comb attachment snapped and guess what you can't buy the comb alone. Also I currently have one of those crappy WAHL ones (again pre LHCF).

Most electronics stores have a section with lots of flat irons and curling irons like the ones you showed.
And Babybliss immediately comes to mind. They have cheaper versions that are not too good but they aslo have more expensive ceramic plate ones that are very good eg with heat control, wet to dry etc

Philips is also a good brand.

I would recommend that you just go pick one out at the store.

Go to any store that sells electronics.

Good luck!

I have one by Jose Eber (tourmaline hair straightener). Not sure how it fares, as I'm not too knowledgeable on hair straighteners. It has variable heat control (I think 90-210 degrees Celsius - I don't know how much that is in Fahrenheit). I never use it on the highest setting as I'm too scared it may damage my hair, but I do think it's a good enough flat iron. I'm not quite sure how people achieve the super-straight look. Maybe they press first?

Get the babyliss pro 230 radiance

after a lot of research, i just ordered mine

there's currently a christmas sale on them- it's usually about a hundred pounds but boots and amazon have it half price right now (i'm not sure if boot sale has ended yet) and argos has it less than half price at 39.15 pounds for the next few days!

it is the equivalent of the conair infiniti nano silver, it has steam function and detangling fins and is said to keep even afro hair straight for days, plus you needn't go over your hair multiple times to get it straight

So I checked out the straighteners at Boots this evening and they are some pretty darn good sales going on. I am off to have my hair re-installed tomorrow so will ask some more advice from my Hairdresser tomorrow. BTW forgot to mention the straighteners are not for my hair as I (almost never) use flat Irons on my own hair but rather for the weave it up challenge to keep my weave tidy and in shape.
