Does size matter ?

I like to watch youtube videos about hair and I like to peruse hair blogs and forums for information about hair. I like hair. :look: Yesterday I was wathcing a video about hair and I began to ponder. The women were natural and seemed to be anti silicones, parabens, minera oil.....I then noticed that they were plus sized women. Not that it really matters, but I noticed. I then looked at my YT subscriptions and noticed that only 2 out of at least a dozen of my subscriptions are of "larger" women, yet these 2 give some of the best advice, consistent videos and review products that most people ignore.

I recently saw a few YT videos discussing the attractiveness of YBers and their subscription rates whic leads me to my think ponder some more. My question is, are you more apt to take the advice of a natural with awesome hair that is in shape over a "heavier" woman giving you the exact same advice with hair that is just as awesome ? Why or why not?

I'm myself am not too concerned about their physical appearance. I focus more on 1) relevancy (do they use similar products to me, do they have a similar hair type, do they have similar hair styles to what I like, 2) personality, 3) their ability to keep me interested.

Hmm, well, this is a very visual society we live in. Have you considered that maybe some of the subscribers are not only about the hair? (maybe personal friends, men who are attracted to her....)

I don't care. I've been following the hair journey's of women of all sizes and give me a second I will throw up some bbw/extra thick naturals! Shoot, at this point my tail might as well be considered plus size because I have put on some pounds over the last year :look::nono::sad:.

Anyway, maybe a thread needs to be started about that because I don't see them represented that often as people's favorites. I don't discriminate: you got fly hair then you are going to get stalked!

And it doesn't matter to me how the woman looks like either, I ain't trying to date her! I never get that . I just want to see ya hair!

Honestly no. If its make up I'm looking at I'm interested in your skin, how clear it is and how good your application is, if its hair its how healthy (short or long) it is and how well your styles come out in the end. I ffwd through a lot of the chatter and can only bear very few people through explanations.

As long as they have similar texture as I do and they are interesting...I'm watching!

I need to go through and delete a few now.

I just look at the hair! If Jabba The Hut had 4ab APL, healthy hair I would be taking notes and subscribing.

If these youtube videos were of men well yeah it would matter but when watching females all I care about is the hair and getting some beneficial tips.

For me it is all about how the person carries themselves and their personality. I don't care how fly the person's hair is. I cannot watch someone who is nasty (in attitude), cussin', or is so boring that I would prefer to watch the grass grow than listen to their voice for one more minute.

I vote for fly hair and wonderful upbeat personality. No matter the size.

It is about the hair and the way they produce their videos. If they ramble, I'm less likely to watch. If they have more videos about other topics than hair I'm less likely to watch. So if they get to the point, talk about hair and they have something to share I am going to watch more. I probably notice age more than I notice size, because some of the younger women rock styles that I may not feel are appropriate for me.

to be honest, i did subscribe to a girl simply because she was ****ing gorgeous. i have no idea what the purpose of her channel even was.:perplexed

for the most part though, i don't care about how one looks or how fat they are. if i can use their advice or styling tips i will subscribe.

I don't care about their size, but I'm less likely to follow a user whose face is hurting

This is probably to my detriment but, I've noticed this is a habit with me.

Hell I follow Andrea's choice, and what the heck does that chick talk about. I don't think a good 75% of her subscribers know what she's talking about half the time. If that's not a case in point I don't know what is. I should probably re-evaluate my subs.

I don't care what the person looks like. It's 90% hair, 10% articulation--I can't stand to listen to ppl throwing a :censored: every 3 to 4 words and if it's full of "um....uh....well" :look: I just can't do it :lachen:

I just look for the person whose hair is most similar to my texture and type. Size doesn't matter at all.

i'll admit I go for looks. bigness isnt a factor as long as you have a prettyy face. i dont like looking at ugly things, its human nature. but the biggest factor is voice. everyone loves aateya but i CANT STAND her nasal voice so everytime I accidently click on her video or there is some scandal about her i either quickly click off or put her a$$ on mute before I get a headache

@Rei, that's exactly who i was talking about.:rofl:

^haha, I was suspecting that

I'm pretty sure that's like a good chunk of her subscribers...she doesn't talk about anything

I think experience trumps almost anything. Size, color, age, sex. I would listen to a larger, white, 50 year old man if he had healthy long swanging hair down his back. LOL. That was out there but hopefully you'll get my point.

I don't give a ish about how physically fit a woman is, if her hair and her advice are on point, i'm all ears.

BTW, I usually watch my hair vids on mute anyway...I'm an excellent lip reader, so voice ain't important either.

i don't really look at YT vids for tips or advice, just for the hair porn :lick: :look:...so the texture/type doesn't even have to be similar to mine, it just has to be pretty...their complexion/size/style isn't a factor.

Unless they were doing something offensive to my eyes...like a certain ytuber who was walking around in her underwear...i'm only concerned about the hair.

In fact, there are some ytubers who have plenty of subscribers (and who are also on the thinner side) that i have checked out and immediately clicked away from because of their bad hair practices or terrible ends

OP this is something that happens on a subconscious level so you can't expect anyone to readily admit something that they're probably not consciously aware of. More attractive people will always garner more interest. For example a good third of andreaschoice's subscribers are men.....nuff said. Andrea actually does offer some good advice pretty often but theres no question that most of her popularity is based on how she looks.

:lachen:You ain't right for that! Her recent twist out was bangin though! I was ready to start using that acv as a leave in my dern self  Let me stop before I get struck by lighting.

I was just thinkin about this when I realized one of my fav yters was kinda on the larger side... I just look at the hair but if the body shows and it's kinda "frumpy" I would be kinda uh... I don't know... Curious...
As for looks... YT is just like RL people are concerned with the physical some even just to be mean but I think most women who watch hair vids just watch because of hair,
I watch one girl who looks like a model "wish I looked like her" and some others that are the opposite. I look for good info and I think in the end all women do. Now men is a whole diff story

Lol after I read that I had to actually go find her channel to see her twist out video:lol:...and you know what she's slowly but surely getting it together since starting to transition. I bet if she improves her styling a bit, gets a solid regimen, and a good camera she'll have more ppl subscribing to her for actual tips rather than just to laugh at her:yep:

THIS is what I was alluding to in my post! People are attracted to attractive looking people and sometimes it's not about the hair. Well articulated BMP!:yep:
