Do you still use a deep conditioner

For those who use cheapie rinse out conditioners as leave in conditioners, do you still use deep a conditioner?

Hey RALEIGHZIA! Glad to see you come out of lurkdom and post!

To answer your question - Yes, I still use a deep conditioner even though I cowash with my cheapie conditioners 3x a week.

Deep conditioning gives my hair such a boost that doesn't compare to cowashing. I know that the only reason I had hair on my head prior to joining LHCF is because I deep conditioned 2x a week.

I use a deep conditioner everytime i condition wash a must have for my head.

Yep. Using a cowash conditioner as a leave-in helps boost moisture, but nothing infuses moisture into my hair like deep conditioning. :yep:

I always DC with a wash or a cowash. ALWAYS. I don't have a hooded dryer or steamer at home so I use a plastic cap under a terrycloth lined shower cap, if I'm doing house chores my bodyheat is the only heat used.

Yes I still DC x2 a week even though I use a cheapie conditioner as a leave in. I do a protein DC on sundays and moisturizing DC on Wednesdays. LOVE the benefits of a DC. :)

yesss! my hair needs dc'ing. i do it 2 or 3 times a week...my hair doesnt like me when i go too long without a cleansing and good dc.

Do u ladies use only certain kinds of cheapie condish as leave ins? I have HEHH and VO5 Moisture Milk. Could I use those?

Yes I am in need of a DC now. Been planning it allllll day. Gonna be yummy :)

I don't always use Moisture Milks ad my leave in. Sometimes I use Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque. It's a DCer but it works best for me when I leave it in or mix it with other products. I also like V05 Tea Therapy. I have the purple one

Do you just put in a small amount while wet or shake some up in a spray bottle mixed with water or dont rinse it all out when u wash??? Does it leave a residue?

No I don't, I use my regular conditioner that I use all the time (Suave Almond Shea Butter) and I mix EVOO and Coconut Oil and let it sit on my hair with a plastic cap with a beanie over it for about an hour and a half and rinse out. My hair feels just as good, soft, and moisturized as it did when I used a deep conditioner. So I will save my money :)

I leave my rinse out conditioner in but I still havent gotten the hang of DCing. Anyone have a good one? I dont have a hooded dryer or a heatcap.

None of the above :)
I apply a small amount to dry hair and seal with oil. I am underprocessed (relaxed head) in a lot of places so I try not to use too much water daily when I have it straightened cuz I don't want reversion. A spray bottle is too much. So I apply it as is. It doesn't leave a residue but sometimes it feels coated if i have been slacking on my DCing because I have low porosity, chronically dry hair. Basically sometimes my leave ins don't always penetrate the hair shaft so it may sorta sit on the strands instead

Well you don't have to use heat. Apply your DC on wet or dry hair, cover in a plastic cap, then put a scarf on it. Rinse in an hour.

ETA: I can't even begin to name DCers lol. There's sooooooo many. Check out the delightfully delicious thread here. And I'm sure every company that makes hair products offers at least one DC

No, I really don't. I should. But I haven't noticed a difference in my hair! I just keep it really simple.
