Camille rose naturals and shedding.

I just wondered if anyone has used the camille rose naturals almond jai twisting butter and the curl moisture milk and have experience shedding?

I used both together after a wash about 2 weeks ago and i noticed my hair shedded a bit more than normal, and as soon as my next wash and using different products (curly kinks) hair shedding back to normal.

I just wanted to know if anyone else experience more shedding using this product or my hair is doing its thing and going through the normal shedding phase.

ctosha I used a Camille Rose product some years ago. I never used it again. Just search the forum for it, and you'll see many reviews.

I used the almond butter for 2 months and yes I experienced shedding. Didn't stop soon enough because it was not only shedding but a significant amount of breakage as well.

Bumping! I started using these two products not too long ago and I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue. My hair was shedding a little before due to something else and I handled that. Anyone else experiencing issues? :scratchch

Kimiche I posted earlier in this thread, but I realized last week that I still had a tiny bit of my product left. I decided to use it up and well.......I should have thrown that out too. LOL My hair was the desert.

i kept wanting to purchase this product but never made it back to target, thank you op for letting me know your experience. I will not be purchasing CR.

Oh wow. I am using the products (Curl Love Moisture Milk and Almond Jai Twisting Butter) now and so far they seem fine. I have been on the hunt for moisturizing products for awhile, so I'll continue for a little bit and see how my hair responds to them. My hair is relaxed by the way. :yep:

Kimiche are you transitioning? If not how are you using those products on your relaxed hair? I have the Curl Maker and Almond Jai Twisting Butter.....I am transitioning and the bottom half of my back is all natural and short...not long enough for braiding.

Used the curl maker for a WNG...That stuff flakes like crazy when it dried...will not purchase again. Other Han that it feels good on my hair and scalp when I apply it. It doesn't really look any different than the other products I've tried but the flakes are like dust, I almost dismissed them as dust for a minute. I'll use it up.

MzRhonda No I am not transitioning. I have just been using the products for daily moisture when I put my hair in a bun or half up half down style. I use the milk first followed by a little bit of the butter throughout my hair and the ends. So far they seem to be working fine. I will use them for a few more weeks and see how it goes. :yep:

Since my experience my hair is back to normal about 90% which I'm happy it bounced back quickly with protective styling and going back to what works which for me is reg condish as a leave in oil/grease and a gel if necessary. I still wonder what the culprit could be for the shedding?

I didn't experience shedding but I used the refreshing leave in conditioner on my daughter and hair came out in clumps. Now, I do use the curl milk and she has "gotten into" my curl maker and those products do fine on her hair. That refreshing conditioner was the only one we had the problem with. I just bought a bunch of other stuff--aloe whipped butter gel, coconut water line of products, and growth serum. We use the twisting butter all the time on DD's twists and braids. No issues.

I love her products. I haven't had any issues with shedding but i also don't use her products daily. Maybe once or twice a week for twist outs.

Looking at her ingredients list, i can't imagine what would cause the shedding.

I didn't have any problems with Shedding using the Jai Almond Twisting Butter, but I did think it would probably work better on Naturals.

It had a bit too much of a 'hold' for my personal liking for my Relaxed Hair.

So, I ended up swapping both Jars with some Natural Posters.

I've never had a shedding issue with the almond Jai twist butter. It really did give me the best twist out results than any other product I've used. I only stopped using it when the ingredients changed.

Just tried the Curlaide Moisture Butter and the Moisture Milk and although they both smell FANTASTIC both products cause significant breakage and shedding. Also left my hair crispy dry by the next day.

ETA: I may give the moisture butter a second chance but the hair milk gave me ill results as soon as I tried to smooth it on. I also think it prevented the butter from penetrating my strands.

Interesting about the Shedding & Breakage.:perplexed

I like the Ajani Hair Balm and the Algae Mask.:yep:

I haven't noticed anything adverse with these two products.

Although I had the Algae Mask before she started mass marketing.

I used several things from the line prior to her branching out.

I also loved the Janzyn Conditioner and the SOYlicious conditioner.

I stopped purchasing them because they were too steep (price wise) for 8oz.

Say it aint so! lol I just picked up the Curlaide Moisture Butter yesterday (it was on sale). I loved the tiny little test run I did of it on dirty hair, and I'm going to use it more fully later in the week. It impressed me so much that I've started looking at their other products, but now you all have me scared to try them!

I rewashed my hair yesterday and just twisted tonight using Curlaide only on dry hair and so far my hair feels great! Very plump and moisturized. I don't know if it was the moisture milk or my technique but the Curlaide has earned its stay. I'll do a test later in the week on a small section of hair to see if the milk causes my hair to act up. I used the milk as a leave in instead of using it on top of a good leave in. I used Kinky Curly Knot Today yesterday as a leave in so maybe that makes a difference.

I have experienced a large increase in shed hairs and oddly ssks using the curlaide. Makes me sad as I love the smell and ingredients but my hair is stupid and has never liked natural products. :(
