Okay, i have been contemplating the Phyto for almost a year but I could never justify paying $65 for it and then not liking it or liking it and having to pay $65 everytime I got a relaxer. My hairdresser just became a licensed Phyto stylist about 3 months ago. In order to get the Phyto, you had to pay $100 for a relaxer. I have NEVER paid that much for the relaxer and I decided that before I jump in to all the hype, I would let everyone else become guinea pigs. :)

Finally after all these months, I tried the Phyto Index 2 on 7/13! It is the best relaxer I have EVER had in my entire life! My hair is very coarse and hard to manage but it smoothed my hair out like never before! I usually get a rinse color with my relaxer but my hairdresser told me to wait a week after the phyto. On Friday morning, my hair had shine like it never had before! I bet it will be even shinier this week when i add the rinse color.

For all the people who are contemplating the Phyto, it is definitely worth it. I get relaxers every 12-14 weeks so the $100 won't hurt my pockets too bad!

I also bought the hair mask and the shampoo. Both are great!

just to confirm...so phyto relaxers leave your hair pretty bone straight but without removing the body...and without making your hair appear thinner, right?

this is the combination i'm looking for...bone straight but i can't afford to lose thickness.

let me know your thoughts please!

I use index two and have to be careful not to end up with bone straight hair. 'cause if that's what you want, phyto will give it to you. My hair is already thick and doesn't lose thickness with this relaxer.

how are you careful to not end up with bone straight after phyto? I was reading the thread bout the curve silkener and someone said she sprays aphogee keratin and green tea reconsturizer in her hair beforehand. do you do something similar...applying protein to the roots first?

I also used Index 2 and it definitely got my hair bone straight but with lots of body and incredible softness and shine. I usually get a relaxer every 10-12 weeks but my hair dresser gave me 2 weeks of intensive treatment with the Phyto hair mask to make my hair stronger for the relaxer because with my hair type she already knew she would have to leave it in a little longer. I got my relaxer at 14 weeks! Once you go Phyto, you can never go back. THERE IS a difference!

Nothing so complicated. I just have to not smooth with so much vigor after the relaxer is applied.

I think I will give it a try. I have been using Mizani. I went to the Dominican Beauty Shop Monday and she said it is too strong for me and suggested Fabulaxer. I think I will just use Phyto instead.

Thanks for the Post!

OT: It sounds like you've been blessed with a good hairdresser. If so you're one of the lucky ones. Now-a-days it's easier to find a good, available, straight man  .

Is this product good for someone who wants to have more body to their hair?
My hair is kind of limp from these relaxers. Would this give my hair a boost?

If I'm not mistaken, I saw this relaxer in Sephora this past weekend for $65.00.

They offer this at Salon Cielo in Columbia Mall, Maryland and it costs $110. With tip that is going to set you back at least $130 but I hear it is worth it!

You call 1877SPECIFIC and ask for phyto specialists/hairdressers in your area. It might also help to post a thread in the salon review forum. I had an affirm done at a salon that does the phyto and, watching a guy, I realized that being phyto-certified didn't mean that he was using healthy hair practices...if that makes sense....

wow. That's madness. What do they do for $110? For that price I'd better be able to snag Jamie Foxx, Orlando Bloom, and Jason Momoa simultaneously. I'm not even kidding.

It's markup...the relaxer costs $65 along so mark that up 45 bucks ...there you go.

Well, the relaxer is very expensive so I can understand the cost. I bought my relaxer for $55 and this time I wanted to have an hairdresser apply the relaxer. She charged me $70K to relax so that's $125 in total. That's why I self-relax normally.
