I thought it would be nice to hair some of the hair regimens that other people do to achieve their healthy long hair. I guess I'll start even though I'm really new at this.
1. I wash and deep condition with MIZANI
2. Moisturize with Cantu shea butter leave in
3. I'm hoping to seal with oil and use MIZANI H20 Night-time leave in, but I havent incorporated that yet.
4. Then I braid my wet hair.
What do you guys do???

I go to the dominicans once a week and do the following:

- Wash with Organix ( Shea butter) shampoo
- Condition with Kenra Color Maintanence Conditioner
- Deep condition with Nacidics (sp?) olive oil deep conditioner but I am looking for a better deep conditioner than that or I will just use my Kenra as a deep conditioner
- Rollerset with the purple rollers using Salerm leave in
- Get a doobie with pins when i'm done

Question#1- is the Aphogee Shampoo REALLY that helpful for your hair? I've been intrigued by Ateyaa's you tube videos and some responders have thanked her for the results they've achieved just by adopting her regime. I currently use a moisturing shampoo that doesn't WOW me but I like it.

Question #2 - Do you use your 2 minute each week or every blue moon. I love mine and I know it's mild protein but am hesitant to use it too often. I recovered from protein overload several months ago and want to be careful.

Thanks for answers!

Im currently in kinky twists and will be for the next 4 weeks or so..

I prepoo with amla and shikakai oil for a few hours
wash with shikakai shampoo
moisturize with CD black vanilla leave in and olive oil

wash one more time during the week with CD rosemary mint shampoo
moisturize with CD black vanilla leave in and olive oil

Just ordered some more boundless tresses so I will be incorporated that into my routine

Be careful with Ateyaa's regimen. I think she is so sweet and I've been watching her vids, but her regimen is def not for everyone because it is built on straight protein based products. She uses majority Aphogee products which are protein base. She even has a tutorial where she used Aphogee 2 step (hard protein), followed by Aphogee 2 minute (light protein), and the keratin & green tea leave in. That's a lot of protein!!!!!!

I left a beautifull comment suggesting a link to sisterslicks link about the importance of balance between protein and moisture http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/278612/the_fine_art_of_protein_and_moisture.html?cat=69 But she deleted the comment:nono:

Thanks so much for reinforcing. I completely agree. As I was saying before, I have recovered from protein overload (breakage) so am very careful now.

I was just discussing with Allandra about Ateya's regime and while inspiring, her hair condition (thickness etc.) is completely different from mine so I wasn't sold on her product usage and regime for me personally. She even stresses herself, repeatedly, that it's HER regime and may not fly with everyone's condition.

The Aphogee 2 minute has always been a Godsend to me and I'm a Dudley's DRC girl every blue moon (not Aphogee treatment), so I was wondering just about the shampoo. What I'm using now is just ... eh'. Thanks again for responding.

I use my 2-min reconstructor every other week or as needed. The bottle says to use it every week, but I don't. I've not used the protein treatment though. Ateyaa's regimen is not for everyone (the blow-drying/no rollersetting/curling iron) is not for me. I do what my hair needs though and THAT works for me.

*Cowash every morning with Herbal Essence Totally Twisted
*Finger comb in the show
*Rinse and wear a wash and go (I do not apply styling products). Please see siggy for results.
*Wash with shampoo once a week (ususally on the weekends).
*Deep condition once a week with Elasta QP DRP-11 mixed with Lustrasilk Sheabutter Cholesterol, Avocado butter, Coconut oil, and Milk.
*Massage scalp every night with oil mixture.
*Moisturize nightly with either hemp seed butter or Avocado butter

Thanks for responding. I use my 2-min every other week too. I was curious about how the weekly worked but not enough to try it. I do use heavy protein (Dudley's DRC) every other touch up but just wanted to know about the Aphogee shampoo.

I cowash daily and leave the conditioner in.
I style in a braided ponytail, bun, or loose ponytail.
At night, I take vits, and braid if it is not already braided and put more conditioner on the ends.

Weekly: Deep condition and detangle.

I don't know about Aphogee shampoo except that it is a protein based poo because I don't use it. Protein is good/needed for the hair but of course in moderation (as you already know this:drunk:) If you want to try the poo, I would suggest using it once or 2x a month to see if you benefit from it.

I myself alternate. I Only use Aphogee 2 step (hard) before relaxer touch ups which is every 3-4 months and then I use Aphogee 2 step (mild) or a protein based poo every few weeks or so just to maintain the balance.

This has worked for my hair but took me a while to figure it out:wallbash:

I haven't gotten a chance to get coconut oil, so I'm using cantu shea butter olive oil. Has anyone tried that?

im back to washing and deep conditioning once a week, blow drying and flat ironing. i use banana brulee as a pre poo, wen as shampoo, a number of deep conditioners, pm moisture mist, ojon mist, hn protein balance leave in and design essentials faom lation as leave ins, and hydratherm naturals growth lotion as a moisturizer. i use vatika frosting or cocasta or HN growth oil as my oils.

Right now my regimen is pretty stable and simple! :yep: I wash once a week with any type of moisturizing shampoo (clarify once a month) and pre-poo with any conditioner for about an hour or so. I try to use a protein DC once a month or so. I cowash anywhere from 1-4x a week. For the first part of my stretches I generally will airdry my hair and either set it with rollers, bantu knots, or twists. When my new growth gets tough I start wearing wigs and/or phony ponys. When I wear wigs I braid my hair underneath in two french braids. I moisturize twice daily and seal with any type of oil (right now alternate between avocado oil and hot sixx oil). I also grease my scalp once a day (usually at night). I sleep in a satin bonnet.

FIRST, I was following a K.I.S.S.-inspired regimen:
Weekly rollersets at home or @ the Dom salon
Deep conditioner every week, pin-curls & wraps

THEN
I started co-washing and alternating ORS Mayo with Garnier Fructis 3 min deep cond,
airdrying, and wearing up-dos (then it got cold...)

NOW
I feel like my hair is in much better shape, so I have resumed the occasional use of direct heat while I am ~stretching~ my relaxer.
- Shampoo my roots only w/ JASON Biotin Shampoo
- Cleanse my hair w/ JASON Biotin Conditioner
- Still alternating ORS Mayo & Garnier
- (various leave-ins/ moisturizers), then air-dry or blow-dry
- CHI Silk Infusion, flat iron w/ BIOSILK 1" flat iron
- moisturize nightly w/ a little Elasta QP before wrapping

I plan to go back and forth between all three regimens depending on what my hair needs & how much time I have to spend on my hair.

2-3 times a week, I pre poo with amla oil, poo with whatever poo is in the house. Right now I'm using Elasta QP Conditioning poo. Dc for an hour with heat with whatever dc I have on hand. At the moment, Ì have Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture and Kenra MC. After I wash, I saturate my hair with Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 Miracle Worker and seal with Fantasia IC Olive Oil serum, then bun it up.

Daily, I take my bun down, saturate with Hawaiian Silky and bun it back up.

My regimen is fairly simple;

1. Pre-poo with Vatika and Shikakai Oil
2. Wash with Ayurvedic powders or Shikakai/ Aritha Soap
3. Deep Condition with Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol w/ Mango
4. Twist hair with hair butter and oil every 2 to 3 days.

That's it. This process is done once per month. Once the twists are in, they stay in for 3-4 weeks. I don't even keep my twists down, I keep them up in a bun.

Shampoo(Shampoo Bar) & Deep Condition 1x a Week & Apply Fresh Herbal Rinse
Conditioner Wash 3x's A week (Suave Vanilla Floral/Suave Coconut/Suave Tangerine)
Use John Friedas Nourshing Leave In Conditioner

I am gonna be experimenting with Indian Powders this week and hopefully they work out!
