Using a facial steamer for your Hair

Hey Ladies. Just a quick intro before I get to my topic. I'm Violet, 17, high school senior =). I'll be leaving for college next year. Because I'll be on my own, I've been working really hard since about the later half of last year to learn to care for my skin and hair. I'm natural 4 a/b/whoknows. Now that that's out of the way...

I've been reading alot of threads about the benefits of steam- for skin and hair. I googled up info on steamers but found a facial steamer rather than one for the hair. Now, since I will be a college student, I don't think I'll have space or money for a real hair steamer. But I question why it wouldn't be possible to use a facial steamer on your hair? I figured if anything, I could sew together a fabric/cloth-like material to maneuver the steam from the little bowl. This was the facial steamer I was looking into...

It would take up less space than a hair steamer and cost less money. Also, it has a dual purpose  So, does it sound like a plausible idea?
