2022 2023 Challenge - Cowash, Cocleanse, Mud Wash, Honey Cleanse, & Others

I’m working on building my stash back up. I was a strict cowash only for years and just stopped. I’m back.

What I’m looking at:
Edenbodyworks
Love Beauty and Planet

No traditional shampoos. Maybe some Ayurvedic cleansers. Still deciding. Will detox 1-2 times a year with bentonite clay or charcoal.

Length isn’t important to me. Just health. I’m a 4a that washes & goes.

@Togolese I didn't realize that you posted your clay washing stats in the older thread. This is the current thread. You can re-post your starting deets here.
Oh no, I did not realise! Here are my starting deets:

This week I did not incorporate clay masks yet. Monday I did a scalp oil massage, sprayed my hair wet & detangled with the African Pride Pre-Shampoo. I cleansed with Innersense Hydrating Cream Bath & conditioned with their conditioner and air dried my hair. I put nothing in my hair and let it air dry. It took a day instead of 1.5 days because the heatings are on. :D

Today I took the opportunity to do my monthly Olaplex No. 3 treatment, since nothing was in my hair. Then I followed up with the same Innersense line to wash and condition my hair. I'm not sure how these Olaplex treatments work with clay so I avoid to combine a hair wash with it.

Tuesday I cut two aloe vera leaves, soaked them in water for several hours to remove the Aloin, peeled the skin and blended the gel. I strained it with a nut milk bag (1l) and added glycerin. I then poured it into ice cube trays and froze it. Next week I'll use it to detangle instead the Pre-Shampoo detangler. I hope it will be good! Have you tried this before?

Aloe and glycerine sounds like an interesting combo. I'm curious to know how it turns out.

I find that honey works better at getting my hair soft than glycerine and so you have me thinking that I need to try that combo when I take down my twists.

I'm quite excited. But the glycerine didn't combine well though. It sank to the bottom and I had to stir it quickly. So I guess it needs an emulsifier to combine the gel with glycerine. If it doesn't work well, I'll just add the melted ice cubes to clay masks. Honey sounds good too!

Do you have a stick blender? Or even a regular blender may be enough to combine the two ingredients before freezing. Glycerine is water soluble so it should work.

Yes, I've used the stick blender to blend the gel, but didn't think about blending the glycerin with the gel. I'll do that next time. My hair wash was last Thursday, I can't wait to give my hair and scalp a good treat.

Kaolin clay with goat's milk powder + triphala, ashwagandha, hibiscus, curry leaves, bhringraj, brahmi, inositol, SAA, bamboo extract, cetrimonium chloride and hydrolyzed proteins
What is SAA and how do you like bamboo extract in your hair? I tried buying inositol once but couldn’t find a loose powder, only supplement pills.

SAA - Silk amino acids. I have been using the powdered form.

As for inositol, I think that I bought mine from a local health food store. Perhaps you can give that option a try?

Feb 20: kaolin clay + goat's milk powder, triphala, ashwaganda, curry leaf, amla, honey, inositol, clove, green tea powder and amino acids.

Today: Pre-pooed with an herbal tea + ACV. To wash, I borrowed from @Togolese and did AVJ (fresh aloe) + honey and a bit of ACV
