September No Buy Challenge

So, I went grocery shopping today... I was hoping to find a blue or purple shampoo/conditioner to tone my hair. I didn't see anything. I know Sally's will have it, but I'm not sure if it's "pass worthy". I could wait until next month. I just really need to cancel out my brassy undertones. My hair is blue black, but the red I had before is peeking through.

Still nothing yet ladies. I have to wait until Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Jose pass over to get my ayurveda powders. There is just too much uncertainty with those two storms here in the Bahamas.

I used my pass to buy the 2 things I mentioned earlier this week: blue/silver toning conditioner and
Mizani Thermasmooth conditioner. My blowout tomorrow will be slayed!!

Slay on slayers... #teamnobuy #nothingelse #ipromise #imdone #hideyourcards #hideyourcash

I'll be sharing my new stuff with this group when it arrives. You guys can live vicariously through me. In fact we can all live vicariously through the passes used by each member. lol
Great idea. I tried to post a pic of my goodies, but it didn't work :(

Cool!

One thing helping/motivating me is that I've assembled a collection of what I do have and love, and I've listed them so I can see in black and white that I have everything that I need . . . and love. No need to shop!

On top of that, I've turned it into a little test: What will my skin, face, body, and hair look like after a dedicated month of CONSISTENT use of only these prioritized, specially selected products?

I'll be looking at my before and after pics (face, hair, body). :yep: All of this taken together is helping me to just stick to what I already have. In essence, I've tried to create compelling reasons that can function more strongly than my love of learning about and trialing products. Those reasons added to financial reasons/goals are helping!

We've got this!

So here is what arrived yesterday:

A replacement for my old soft bonnet because it broke and became impossible to secure in place. This time I got something colorful. It also has both a draw-string and a chin strap.

And it comes with a chic storage purse.

I also bought these disposable plastic caps to put on when I have a treatment in my hair so as not to soil the bonnet.

It has like a 100 pieces inside. Should last me a long time.

And then I went on to try the bonnet dryer:

It is very secure in place thanks to both the draw-string and chin-strap. It fits perfectly well onto the nozzle of my blow-dryer. The bonnet is big. I expect to be able to go underneath with rollers in my hair. It heats up well and using the medium setting it is very comfortable. I am not sure about the speed of drying though. It is huge so it may not be very fast. We will see.

I love the pattern!

I've been under mine for 2 hours, and my twists are still not dry. Ima need that man to get on the stick with his fast tabletop hooded dryer invention. I'm praying it up. FOR REAL.

My old one was like a balloon inside and it would sort of engulf the head lol so the heat would pass very close to the hair. I will make another attempt at fixing it in the future or might just have to resort to tying the string or something.

I'm still saving. No spending other than my pass. I have yet to use either of my new products, because I've been busy. Wash day is today though...

How is everyone?

Thanks for checking in with us.

I have purchased nothing besides the pass-approved SLAP caps (buy one get one free + free shipping). I haven't had a desire to purchase anything, either.

I'm likely going to run out of my EarthTones Naturals Gelly. I have a lot of other gel, though, so oh well.

I. Will. Not. Repurchase. It. This. Month. :strong:
