Naturals that need a little motivation.....hair porn alert!

What if she is maintaining her hair at that length? I find it really hard to believe that NO ONE has considered that. Or perhaps she's a slow grower? Or she's human and had a setback? Oh perhaps CUT her hair?

Tough crowd in here. Maybe she had a setback? I know I have. I'll be 5 years in next month and my hair is just a little past APL. :shrugs: Dye and SSKS did me in.

Also, natural hair still has some degree of shrinkage when straight. It still has little crinkles/crimps down the strand. My hair still looks shorter straight than when I pull a piece to stretch it. Especially when it's curled. Not by much but still an inch or two.

Her hair looks great to me. Maybe that is her goal length. Or she could be like a whole lot of people who had setbacks along the way. Or maybe she was a trimming junkie. I know now that my being a trimaholic kept me between sl/apl for a long time.

Gorgeous hair. She cut out a whole head of color too. I noticed the color pic(2008) , then in the comments she said she got the last of it cut out in 2010. That's actually stellar progress considering that. Her hair is sooooo thick!!

Her hair is full and thick. But we're talking 5 YEARS people! 5 loooonnnggg yyyeeeaaarrrrsss only to get a little past APL!

I agree. But her hair looks nice. Won't take that away from her. I've seen a lot of "WL" and "TL" on here that is just some scraggly ends barely brushing the line.

preach! I like healthy clean ends over long and scraggly.

Also, everyone doesn't seek length. I've been on this journey over 15 years. The first 10, I was just trying to understand my hair - products, how I can wear it out, keeping it healthy. I kept it between APL and BSL for years. It was only recently that I've become interested in length. Now that I'm at WL, I'm kinda over it. It's only hair.

You're on this forum which I can say means you're probably in a better position than folks like me who didn't find this forum until i was almost 5 years in on my journey (and still only SL). Don't use her as an indication of your progress b/c there are others who illustrate how consistent care leads to consistent retention. I remember after watching Kimmytube's journey thinking that, 'dang she'd been natural since 1999' but she had hair drama and didn't know what she was doing. Once she got it, well...the rest is history

Right. Its important to remember that going natural doesn't mean that you're hair going to automatically flourish. Just like if you suddenly start moisturizing and sealing, relaxed hair will spring to life. It requires a lifestyle change

at first, before viewing the vid, i thought everyone was just making excuses for klezibaby88 for some reason. because having been an active participant on the forum the last year or so it's clear that everyone has pretty high expectations about where one should be in 4.5 to 5yrs. so i can see what Cherrybaby is saying: after 5yrs i would expect to see WL for someone who claims to have been on an HHJ.

BUT *CherryPie* i think you should consider that this woman has grown two heads of hair in the specified time! she completely cut out all her colour (and she was at APL in 09 With the brown hair) and regrew to APL again in 2010. i think she's on track w/ length retention considering that and beautifully thick and healthy looking to boot :)

nzeee ,

I don't agree, and I've moved on from this thread.

I love her hair! I love all types of hair (curly, kinky, straight, wavy..... I just love hair.) I watched a Dr.Who commercial and there was this guy that had this massive fro that was just gorgeous. :look: I soooo wanted to run my fingers through it  It just looked so soft and fluffy. :lick:

Well said. I've cut my grass 3-4 times since doing the BC and inside of that time, I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and a severe vitamin D deficiency. At a year and a half I'm a little below collarbone stretched and I'm still learning. No one tells you that your hair may behave differently along the way. Iluvsmuhgrass (HA!) and I have to be gentle and judge it by my growth scale.
