Hate to say it too but only practise makes perfect.

I think it must have taken me a good year to 'graduate' to pins and rollars all over. First I was trying to work out how to hold a rollar and roll it down a sectioned part of hair AND put the snap on cover. Took forever mastering that all over the head. And even then the results after was so blah I was like 'why did I bother?'

The pins was another story after that which took another few months.

Slowly slowly. It does happen but takes months of practice (at least for me).
