Do you ladies do a hot oil treatment or deep condition? Or Both?

I have been trying to figure out how to fit a hot oil treatment in my regimen. Before hair boards, I either did a hot oil treatment or a deep conditioner. So do you ladies do a hot oil treatment and a deep conditioner? If so, do you do the hot oil treatment first and without heat?

I hardly ever do hot oil treatments but, if I do I still do a deep condition. I usually do a pre-hot oil treatment.

You could also mix it into your conditioner.

tommorrow- i will be doing both. i use do a pre-shampoo treatment with castor oil- but i don't heat it - i just put a baggie on for an hour or two.

I do. I use V05's hot oil treatment once every two weeks and deep condition once a week. So far I think it's working haha

Hmmm...perhaps I should consider this. All I've been doing is putting oils in my con and deep conditioning...I may give the pre-poo hot oil thingy a try

I do both, usually on a Sunday, and incorporate a reconstructor as part of my weekly regime. I find now that I hardly have any breakage and the minimum of shedding. Sometimes I miss a week, but daily misting with distilled water keeps my hair clean and healthy.

Hope this helps,

I was wondering if hot oil treatment was needed if you are doing the deep condition. I never really thought about the preshampoo treatment being a hot oil treatment. LOL! I do a preshampoo treatment once a week. So if I'm doing a preshampoo treatment and deep condition, I don't have to worry about any extra hot treatment after I wash my hair with shampoo?

I do both. I shampoo twice a week and always do an oil treatment pre-shampoo. Once a week, I'll do a a deep conditioner after the oil treatment and shampoo. I don't ususally do a hot oil treatment after washing my hair because I found that just using a few drops of oil as a leave-in worked much better for me and left my hair bouncy and shiny but not weighed down.

I do both. I mix mine together (condish + fave oils) then add 10-15 min of heat w/plastic cap. I get moist soft hair everytime. Sometimes i do hot oil only like when i use v05. *sometimes i add other things to my conditioner concoction also, like honey, aloe, egg yolk etc. First i shampoo so my hair is saturated with water,i towel blot some of the excess h20. Then i apply the conditioner-oil mix or hot oil go under dryer pull off plastic cap when finished, rinse and then i style in my twists or bun and let air dry. My hair loves this. :D

What I do is melt some coconut oil, or shea butter, then I add my deep conditioner concoction w/ a little honey, then I mix and heat the whole thing up for 10 seconds till nice and warm. I love it. I get the dc, and the h/o tx all in one. My hair doesn't do well w/ just hot oil tx. This seems to be the perfect combo for me.

carmella25 this is what I have started doing just recently! my hair seems to be responding well to it...that's always a plus.

I just deep condition once a week. Hot oil treatments/pre-poo treatments do nothing for my hair. I only use oil sparingly on my ends daily to prevent split ends.
