I went to my hairdresser today and ask her if she knows where I could find henna and she told me that Bigen is almost the same thing as henna. Is it true?

Bigen and henna are not the same.

Bigen has chemicals in it.

Ingredients: sodim perborate, cellulose gum, P-Phenylenendiamine sulfate, m-aminophenol, sodium carbonate, disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, magnesium stearate, fragrance, O-Aminophenol, P-Aminophenol.

P-Phenylenendiamine sulfate do NOT have a very good rep

Henna, lawsonia inermis is a plant ground to powder to dye skin, hair, etc

I put Henna on my hair on Monday and it came out so darn soft. It's great as a conditioner and I love the hi-lites that's in my hair now!

its obvious they are different: but i think they color the same:

  • they both have warning labels and require 48hr pretest (for allergy & color test)
  • henna (for black) is henna & indigo and bigen (for black) puts it in one
  • you can color right after a relaxer
  • they both are a powder and add water
  • and are PERMANENT

If you want it black, you may want to try indigo, which it typically used right after a henna treatment.
