2019 Use Up The Stash Challenge

I have far less in my stash than I thought. I was able to put all my remaining products in 1 bin vs. 2. I probably still have 6 months worth of a few things. I just wont buy anything buy staples for the next few months.

Almost the same here. I've gone from a full shelf in the linen closet to a small corner. I have maybe a year or so of product if I don't buy anything new.

I finished up my cowashing conditioner last night.

I'm on track to finish another 4-5 products by the end of the year. No plans to buy anything but if the after Christmas sales are looking right, I might get some staples.

I recently finished or got rid of the following Curls Cashmere & Caviar Hair Bath(not going to miss), As I Am Coconut Co-Wash ( will miss through I go back and forth between this and The Doux cowash) and Shea Moisture Silicone Free Miracle Styler Leave in Treatment (didn't like it and the spray pump wasn't effective).

My Soultanicals Afrotastic DC started to separate so I think it went bad, threw it away. I Actually don't have an opinion on it, wasn't able to use it enough to decide if I like it. Also finished up my staple UFD Curly Magic. I'm hoping to have another update before the new year but just in case.

These yearly threads have been amazing at helping be curve my inner product junkie. Happy Holidays Ladies!

Me three. But hopefully I’ll be in a good position to have some empties during the first quarter next year.

Well, well, well! Call me a liar. I just finished up Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother. Excited! DD must’ve been heavy handed when she used it last night. I’m going to add two things to my stash and then no more buying except for reups. I need a purple shampoo to make my grays less yellow and I am just dying to add Cholesterol into my rotation.

I finished up my bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil pre-shampoo balm. I won't be finishing up anything else this year. I'll have my quarter tally and all year update up tomorrow or Thursday.

I didn't see a 2020 thread but I'll probably be sitting it out. My stash is still big but it's mostly because I have backups of staples. So getting it down is a matter of time, not my will to use stuff up.

Last purchases of 2019:
Saturday: Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil Cholesterol and Jhirmack Silver Brightening Ageless shampoo

Monday: Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil (to mix with the cholesterol)

I will meet everyone in the new thread!

Hello all, my name is B_Phlyy and I enjoy taking hotel conditioner samples just because. That is the single greatest reason my stash went up this session. And I wasn't using up as much due to my work and travel schedule. I ended up decluttering a giant liter size of conditioner that took me to long to figure out was damaging my hair. I suspect if I hadn't been using that, I'd have been able to use up more conditioner.

Surprisingly, I did completely run out of 2 full sized shampoos and am halfway through a sample sized one now. And I do think that I am going to stick to only travel sized shampoos for the next year or so. I was gifted one full sized one in October so it didn't make the inventory count but it's in my current stash.

As we've moved into a real fall, I'll be wigging it through the rest of the year. So mostly cowashing with once a week DC and following LOC so my hair is moisturized under the wigs. And I'll be seriously sticking to my no buy until the end of December.

Total for End of Session 4: 54

I did a lot of great work during this session but I got a few hair care gift sets for Christmas. And I did place a few orders during the after Christmas sales. So my numbers will be going up soon.

Overall I'm happy with what I accomplished through this challenge. But I also know that it's time for me to move on from it. I'm still very much a product junkie but I'm not really try a bunch of new stuff as much as I'm repurchasing my tried and trues over and over. 2019 taught me that I much prefer to buy in bulk during a good sale and then go months with my stash until I need to reup. So I'm going to just do that moving forward.

I think my long(er) term goal is to really get my stash down to maybe 10 products and have backups of those. I won't be able to do it in 2020, but maybee 2021/2022 will be my stash down year.
